Got my dollar ride in the Huey today! I would rate it as the best experience in my short flying career thus far. Between my instructor's comments of, "Bet you couldn't do this in a T-6" and "Everything I'm here to teach you today is to keep your wife/girlfriend/mother from buying a Mercedes with your SGLI money" it was an absolute riot. While not anywhere near stable, my hover was apparently "above average" for day one. Even got to slide it on by myself, although it wasn't quite straight and one skid went off the pavement...but hey, it stopped faster. :D

I can't believe I'm getting paid to do this. I can't imagine a better kind of flying. Rotary wing flight FTW!
 
:beer: Enjoy it, man. Watch out for that tail stinger and stay alert for hovering simulated engine failures.
