Skywest, ASA, Expressjet Merger?

I would welcome a fair and equitable merger of these 3 companies under one seniority list and ONE NICE NEW CONTRACT:D

Doesn't the XJT contract require SLI in the event of an acquisition?

Yep...That's what held up the show last time when the CAL/SKWY combo came knocking.

I think many of us at XJT are interested, but waiting on the details. Could be a good thing with a giant integrated list.

I don't like the idea of Mega-Regionals because my big plan is to actually fly international for a MAJOR airline. If regionals continue to merge like this my dreams will fade and I will blame it all on you Trip 7!

I don't think regional consolidation will impact your major airline aspirations at all. Regional consolidation will lead to less competition. This should result in higher pay for regional pilots. The less regionals there are, the more leverage pilots have, and less whipsaw between regional companies.

ASA isn't going anywhere for a while.....they just dropped all that cash on a name change! :)

Also I haven't heard ANYBODY mention this at Skywest....is this just another fantasy trip7?

Over at the school house last week, rumors were a flyin'. Variants of XJT, Airtran and Mesa were being tossed about. Don't believe any of it, although stranger things have happened.

All jokes aside.. Why would you want a 7000 pilot seniority list at a regional?

More leverage and more bargaining power. Split them up and each company competes so fiercely barely any profit is made, and barely any payraises given.

I tend to agree that fewer regionals would potentially increase regional pilot's QOL. I'm sure major airlines love 12 regionals each scrambling to come up with the lowest cost contract, but in the end everyone suffers, regional crews, passengers and even the major airline through less reliable operations.

Believe me I want everyone to do well, but the current landscape/battlefield is getting tiresome and I wouldn't mind seeing a giant seniority list offering a wide variety of flying/aircraft/bases along with less pressure from above to align my costs with other carriers.

Trip7 I'm def interested and have been hearing rumblings on our end as well. Details...I need details!!

Any clue how Expressjet did last quarter? have they announced it yet?

Aug 11 is the quarterly report. I would expect a loss as it sure seems impossible to make $ under the current capacity purchase agreement with momma CAL. Yes, the same CPA that came out of the SKWY/CAL fiasco of recent history.

I've have no details only have heard rumblings. Tomorrow is the SKW earnings call so that maybe a possibility for an announcement

Update: Our COO stated ASA has an opportunity coming our way in his weekly update this evening and a new 7am EST tomorrow announcement rumor has gone viral

Also, Congrats to XJT....48 more recalls!
