flight express??

The email invite has the Cincy in it. That is probably why that question surfaced. Airnet is still flying out of LUK right? I think I remember seeing a Navajo out there.

I think you are forgetting B. Ditto at BHM because he is about as Senior as you can get. He has been there a 100 years it seems.

Eh. Depends on how you count "most senior." I mean, ORL has AC, so it's most senior in that respect. I don't remember how long they said Ditto has been with the company, but I went with BNA because, as was mentioned, everyone there is high on the list.

Oh, and Whitebread, congrats!

Then that's news to me. I am not in ORL so I don't have all the information. Best of luck in training.

That fluctuates so often, there is NO WAY to know. When I went through training, they gave us a "big picture" heads up about a week before we bid for the base we wanted, and that changed every day including a change right before we bid. As an example, the run I have did not exist when I was hired and they were working out the details such as where it would be based even after we had bid.

People are constantly moving to other things even in this hiring environment, runs go away, runs are created, and this just stay in flux. When they say be ready to go to any base when you finish training, it's true. Except the CA bases. The guys who have those like them apparently.

Also, disregard everything on the website about upgrade into the Baron. That has practically stopped.

I was wondering about the open bases myself. Anyone know?

That's your answer. That's what the company will tell you. And it's the truth.

What kind of simulator do they run at ORL?

Its just a run of the mil PCATD set up as Bonanza. Just show them you know your IFR stuff and you will pass. I flew the the horribly that day but answered the questions they asked so I moved on

Thanks for the info guys! Does anyone actually just airline in for ground school? I ask because if you drive to FL then find out you are based in MO that would be a long drive back that way....

I airlined from PHX. Finished training on a Friday, missed my flight that night and spent the night on a bench in the airport, took the earliest flight out in the morning on Sat. Left PHX on Monday for BHM and started flying on Thursday. On the other hand I have seen guys sit for a month after finishing training before they start flying the line, with pay of course.

I airlined in. They gave me something like 5 days to get from Santa Fe to Louisville, drop off my stuff, and get to the hotel in Jackson, MS. It was tight but it was reasonable. I think they would have given me more time if something had come up. Ernst is pretty much the definition of "tough but fair", as far as I've experienced. If you're being reasonable, he will too.

Thanks for the feedback. Did you guys get a rental car, cab, or is the facility close enough to the hotel for the shuttle to be used? Which hotel is good?

Unfortunately the hotel is about a 15min drive from ORL and a $50 cab fair from MCO. I just bummed rides off some of the other guys during ground school then rented a car for a couple days during flight training.

Several guys in my class flew in. Most (all?) of them rented cars and pretty much burned their bonus check on that. You can probably bum the rides you need, except maybe during the flight training part.

I had 2 people in my class who drove from MO.

Hey All, My name is Josh, new to the forum here. I am going to the FLX interview in August, I will be driving my car up from Fort Lauderdale. I will be staying with friends Sun eve, but I can drive others around from the hotel and back.

Any clue about getting Ft Laud or MIA as bases?

Hey FLX820, word on the street is you're a cheater! You still telling people you're just practicing you're short field landings when you land south of 27?
