Jump Pilot Employment Leads?

How high are ya going? 14k?

We go to 11k MSL here, which gives you 10k agl. Problem is density altitude on the ground in the summer is always over 3k. The other day with a density alt of ~4k and us right at max gross, I was only getting ~150fpm at the top and that's all out, no cruise climb power setting or anything.

No. What I meant was if they are paying by the tach then I have every incentive to take my sweet time to get up and down. But I was always paid by the load so time really didn't matter to me. We flew a non turbo 206 with an IO-520A. Took about .3-.5 depending on the load up to 10k MSL.

Anyhow, drop zones underpay their pilots which is why I'm out. If you can pay a hung over, drugged up hippy $30/jump plus $20 per video you can pay the person who makes the whole operation run a little bit more. It's an a$$ backwards industry if you ask me.

Ah, yes that makes more sense. Read that wrong I guess. Luckily enough for me, I am paid enough to make things work living in this area of the county.(Cost of living is crazy low.) I know it wouldn't work where I grew up though.

Dang.. is your owner a nazi about turn times? I flew a 206 for a while and the guy was a pest. I hear ya on the DA... we are around 5k here when its hot but it helps that I'm in the Otter. I definitely don't miss the Canyon though in the summer... easily over 10,000 on the DA daily!

No he's not, and yesterday I was waiting on the jumpers because we didn't have enough tandem instructors or a packer. He understands it takes what it takes. If our DA was 5k, we wouldn't be able to make it to 11kmsl. If it was 10k, the 182 wouldn't be flying.
