What were you doing in September 2003?

I was on shore duty at SWOSCOLCOM, Newport, RI, as an Enlisted instructor of newbie officers. I was also working as a CFI at Middletown airport as much as my student load would allow. Then, on the weekends, I would go out to Providence airport and instruct there.

I'm pretty sure I was lurking on JC then, and soaking up as much information as possible. I still try to do that as much as possible, and try to learn something on every flight.

Were you here at JC?
Were you a pilot?
What was your job?

Yes, and had been for a while. I'm not sure when I first found the site, but it was when I decided to go to flight school, so 1999 seems likely. I seem to remember the site was around for a bit before the forum came along. That's been a lot of beers ago though.

I believe I had my commercial in September 2003.

I was working on airplanes.

I was here on JC.
CFI/II/MEI
Flight instructing and hoping things would pick up in the industry so I could get a call from someone. Hmmm sounds familiar.

Id have to dig but I think I got my ME from you that year.

Yes, I'm still alive....

2003
I was on Jetcareers as SkyWChris.
I was a pilot
I was a CRJ Captain at SkyWest in SLC... can't remember if I was on the interview board yet... but if MrIVC was waiting for his class, then, yes, I was...

I was miserable at a desk, but making money:drool:.
me too...although i'd just started a new job as transportation designer....and gossip was flying about what was going on in the engineering world (that's when people used to jump from job to job about 2 years at a time).

plus Doug and I were just starting to get ready for our first NetworkJC, talking the players into it and all or were they talking us into it? HAHA...we were REALLY nervous about meeting these few 12 people or so that we'd never met before, esp considering we'd never done anything like that before...but it turned out to be a ton of fun!

I joined JC about one yr ago.
I was back running my construction business and ready to shoot myself dead. It's terribly hard to say no to good money and stable lifestyle.
I was flying personal flights and building my list of different types.

2006 I overdosed on 1000 mg pills of Fukitol and made the jump to flying as a career.

I am working on my perspectives article (finally) and am trying to figure out where everyone was when I joined JC 9/11/03.

I think Matt was a flight instructor...or Chicago Express?
I know BobD was either attending flight school, or was about to.
Pavelump was a flight instructor
Omar was just getting hired or about to be hired at OO
Doug was a fo at DAL on the Mad Dog flying domestically
CaptainBob was at flight school in JAX
MJG was in the NAV
MikeD was flying an A10 in Iraq
EDawg was a flight instructor (I think)

I was a junior in HS in Memphis, TN saving money to start my PPL the next year.

Twas working at NASA and not on JC at the time. Still reeling over the Columbia disaster.

Wasn't a pilot yet.

I was beginning my junior year in college studying philosophy.

I had been on JC nearly a year at that point.

I held a private pilots license with an instrument rating and I was working on building hours towards my commercial pilots license, ever so slowly.
