Living near base- Commutair

Well I know I am looking forward to class in a week and a half and I actually have a positive view of this company. Sure there is gonna be some qol issues but that is the same everywhere when sitting reserve. I like the smaller company and I like the people at Commutair that I have met. That is of course not to say that I don't have friends at Colgan, Eagle, and a few of the other regionals as well. Just liked the people behind the scenes that I met a bit more and felt more comfortable with these folks that I did with the others that I applied to.

Without a doubt the pilot group & fa's are awesome to work for. I've never had a problem w/ the crew. The moral their is very low though. At least when I was there, and from what I can tell from those I kept in touch with. I just wish management saw this. All they would need to do to boost moral and keep everyone happy is to have pay rates somewhere near Piedmont and block or better.

Have fun in the Trash Crate!

Jhugz did you fly for them at some point? What did you find that you didnt like so much that has left you with such a negative view on the company? Just curious?

Matt, I look forward to meeting you. You seem like you would be a great addition to our pilot group. Oh and I heard who your roomate is. Hope you don't have too much trouble keeping him in line!

I saw that. haha. aaaaaaanyway,

KLS- they put us up in the Candlewood there right across from the HQ and Walmart.

That's cool, there is a decent amount to do around there. I live about 50 min from there. There is a Famous Daves right down the road, good BBQ spot. Also a Red Robin.

hmmmmmmm... tough decision, ramin... or red robin. haha.

Say I was to apply and get hired there, since I live only 50 min. away would I be required to stay there?
Those of you that are just starting what are your flight times?
I want to work there, however I'm concerned about being out of flying for about 10 months, what do they look for as far as currency?

Reserve call out time is 2 hours and 15 minutes. (2 hour show and 15 minute call back time) Ready reserve is 20 minutes so you would have to be at the airport for that.

I was in class with a guy who had not flown in one year. While I was in class they interviewed a guy who had not flown in 3 years. If you do well on the interview then that is all you need.

What about during training? Would I have to stay at the hotel or could I commute back and forth each day?

Do what you want as long as you are in class on time. I'm sure your roomate wouldn't throw too big a fit over it either.;)
