found out i was the primary choice, but the lack of turbine time pushed me back to number 2 darn catch 22's. need turbine, but can't find anyone to let me fly a turbine

I know exactly what you mean. One can't really go and rent a turbine aircraft to build that kind of time. (Well... not on my salary lol) So i'm finding myself just building some multi in the time being.
