ASA Recalls All?

If my math is right, and no additional bypasses are taken...

#1620 will be the new active plug.

136 (#1536) minus the 16 who have already indicated they would bypass [from the first notice] leaves 120. The next 40 accepted recall, leaving 80 who would likely accept a recall (ignoring the previously bypassed pilots - although they also will get notices now...again...so that they may change their mind...). 30 from the remaining 80 leave 50 remaining pilots on furlough after these two recalls.

With #1620 being the last one to go back - if no one else recalls.

On a personal level - I need ten additional bypasses to get back to the active pilot list.

Hopefully you'll get that! Did you ever find out who went to GoJets?

I found out how many, but not exactly who. Which is fine.

Had a furloughed UAL pilot check our furlough list and checked it against their June list.

Seems 12 from the original 80 went to GoJets.

My magic number is 1612. Trying not to get too happy until I see the letter in the mail....

Then you have to wait for everyone to decide whether they're gonna bypass or not. :( I'll continue to do my part and stay out of the mix for you guys until everyone is back!

Looks like they're sending out 76 letters for 33 slots. They expect 16 to decline again and I'm guessing they forecast a higher bypass rate for the February furloughs. Good luck guys!

12 of the February group are off probably enjoying a much better QOL at GoJet rather bottom reserve commuting to reserve hell in IAD.

Nobody has a better qol at gojet. Talk about anxiety from nobody liking you. In Ord the other day I bumped into a guy I used to flight instruct with who was now a captain with Gojets. He saw me and then wouldn't take his eyes of his shoes, and just slinked away in shame. They know they screwed over Trans States.

QOL as in line holder vs. commuting to reserve hell in IAD for Atlantic Southeast.

Still scum in my book, but I doubt any from the 12 will come squirming back to Acey to sit on reserve having to commute to IAD.

I get what you're saying, reserve blows. The silver lining is that I (and many others) have found the flying (ramp, overnights, airport food choices, crew lounge, crews, etc) out of IAD to be head and shoulders better than ATL.

But yeah, commuting to short call reserve is a pretty miserable existence. I did it for about 8 months and often thought about quitting.

Yup. It's one of those things those accepting a recall will certainly have to remember.

IAD will be junior for a very long time, that is if/until an increase in UAL flying comes to get some movement on that side. But Atlanta is home to a larger majority of the bottom 25% of our list, meaning that 5% of reserve staffing is going to get sent to IAD involuntarily.

Hopefully by the time I come back next Spring there will be the rest of the furlough group back as well and . . . if the psychics are right . . . some new hires to push the boat higher for the summer of 2011, leaving me with the opportunity to stay in Atlanta on the 200 instead of shipping up to IAD and commuting to a crappy reserve environment.

I hear you there! I commuted for 18 months to ATL for short call...To consider it a miserable existence is putting it way too lightly...:D

Well, it's official now... ASA is getting 4 of Horizon's CRJ 700's.

It's going to cost the Horizon Pilot Group 40 furloughs...so much for good news.
