agreed, on both counts, except that this place is not to bash, it is to mentor, educate...help along...be truthful but that doesn't mean you have to be mean.

I don't honestly think he's bashing. I have almost no real respect for CFIs who say, "X IS RIGHT NO MATTER WHAT AND Y IS WRONG!!!!!" Also, pilots who don't think for themselves irritate me as well, not because of some sort of superiority complex, but because I Have to share the airspace with them, and I don't want them to crash or die or somehow endanger my life. For the most part, IFR is easy, they tell you where to go, what to do, etc. VFR, not so much, I think (and this is just me personally) that a lot of CFIs and regional pilots tend to think that the airline world is the onlyl world in which it is possible to operate and that anything that doesn't follow "airline" procedures or the fake procdures that their flight school created is bogus and thus dangerous. I think this is the perception of many in both the 135 and 121 world, and that it belies a level of indifference and ignorance.

Is it just me or is anyone else tired of reading threads about technique and the right way of doing things?
 
I'm not quite sure what you have if anything at all, but I'm sure they make a cream for it! Penicilin might be an option also.:D

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I remember this "hiree" didn't really post or otherwise participate on JC at all. Pretty big difference between somebody that is active versus just having an account here to browse the jobs available section.

his words...and he made sure I understood his intent after you stood up for him before.

I really would rather not spend my time in these types of wars of will, but I will, and goodness knows that I am persistent :D.

I think the way I tried to communicate with dhc2 is in the tough love, not bashing way, and I didn't start there. I did amplify when I realized that I wasn't being understood at best and disregarded at worst.

I really am trying, patiently, to communicate a concept, more than that, a philosophy that we hold dear here. I like to think that we hold ourselves to pretty high standard of decorum. That is the target that we are shooting for. If you read my comments in this thread you will see that I am not in disagreement with you on the issue, moreso on the tone.

There are other places where they do not care as much about mutual respect, but honestly I don't like those places. This is where I like to hang out...I have figuratively grabbed more than one bullying member by the ear and shown them the door, but that is not fun. What is more fun is finding common ground and making friends or at least respected colleagues whenever possible.

Heck, I was really hoping for an Alaska dispatch this year, but we already have two up there so it isn't in the cards. I would love to go for a ride into the back country with some of you guys on my day off up there.

Some tundra tire water skimming landings onto sandbars is what I'm after....find that one in an airline SOP
