NMB ruling

Sigged - EDIT*think it should be associate? correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep, should have been. Thanks. I write "Association" a few dozen times a day at work, so must have been force of habit. :)

As far as the voting, is it still anonymous? I forget if that bill a year or so ago passed.

Yes, it's still anonymous. You're thinking of the Employee Free Choice Act, which basically died without ever being brought to a vote (unfortunately). It would have provided a new voting mechanism for employees under the NLRA that used authorization cards rather than the current two-stage process that requires both cards and a secret ballot.

This is a job for me a fun one but nothing more, you've obviously made it more.

If this is fun but "nothing more", why do you have an opinion on the union issue? Wouldn't your reasoning fit in more with the apathetic crowd than with the "no" crowd? Or is it just a general "unions are bad" sort of mentality. Either way it would seem you haven't dug very deeply into the issues that a union could potentially affect. Are you comfortable casting a vote without taking the time to educate yourself?

Is that the thought out response from an educated fellow employee?
I think that should go under every angry post you make, and you should be forced to wear a t-shirt that says that every time you try to influence people to your way of thinking.

I have honored you with responses that were respectful and on point, and you come back with this? Really what is your point then?

You don't know what's going on at SkyWest, so you come here with an uneducated perspective and spew anger and hype, and impune the character of my fellow employees, and then say it's all just a big fun game for you?

Seems like a troll to me folks. Don't feed the troll.

Unless you want to have a grown up discussion....

Should be. AFAIK, the Colgan vote was call in with your info, and vote. Only thing people see are the final tallies, not how people voted. Same for our TA vote.

Thank ya both.

No one in America will ever pay you what you are worth. You have to fight tooth and nail for it. The only way to accomplish that in the airline biz is through collective bargaining agreements.

do you actually work for SkyWest?

what do YOU know about it! LOL:laff:

You know what's funny "Pat?"

A somewhat vocal voice for this drive from Skywest is: a full time lawyer who also puts his time in with SAPA. Just because YOU don't want it.....

Again...how's your health insurance looking in 2012? How were your "performance" rewards this quarter? $260?

As everyone else has said, you have a vote. Quit bitching and vote for what you believe. Don't like the result? So be it...stand by your choice. No one criticizes testicular fortitude. Maybe question, but not criticize.

OK I don't know who is a vocal supporter of this drive who is a SAPA rep and an attorney...matter of fact, there is someone who USED to be a SAPA rep who is an attorney and who went to the hearing to testify against a change to the ruling...

As far as Pat goes, I know he read my challenge to a debate on the issues, yet s/he does not respond...

I guess it's just easier to just take potshots...:rotfl:

Those are certainly nice! We have a set that needs replacing pretty soon. What are you doing for cutlery? :)

Our Calphalon set is 10+ years old now... the non-stick has long since worn off the most-used items from the set. No plans to replace it though. My mom still uses the stainless steel set she got from a door-to-door salesman in the early 70's. That cookware set is older than me (and my brother!), and they look exactly the same as they did when I was a kid.

I love my Cutco knives. I've had them almost 10 years now, and they've never needed sharpening. They're amazing.

Is the stainless set made by Salad Master.

I buy all my flatware from the Delta Museum store when they have their hanger sales. At $.05 to $.25 a piece, you can't beat the price.

It's a tradition in my family. I grew up eating with flatware from just about every airline in existance. My dad travelled extensively and he and his friends played a game where they would slip the silverware into each other's bags.

I just take them from Sizzler and Luby's.
