Flight Instructor

Guys, as I mentioned, I have been offered a spot at Flight Express. This leaves open my current position.

I am self-employed running a flight school as the only truly active instructor in a small college town. (well, it's a drinking town with a football problem)

My current duties involve managing the airplane I instruct in, marketing, sales, all admin duties, etc. The airplane owner is wonderful to work with, but you still have to do the work.

This has been a great experience for me, and it paid for college, but I'm moving on and I'd like to give someone the chance to step in if they're up for the challenge.

I would move back to Oxford in a NYC minute if I could convince the wife to move.
I spent 3.5 yrs looking for an an unattractive female in Oxford and finally came to the conclusion of they do not exist @ Ole Miss.

Eh... yeah... they do. Just not as common as in Starkville ;)

The unofficial University slogan is "We redshirt Miss Americas." (The only University to have two graduates be Miss America. Of course, that was in the 60's but...)

Don't think we let any of em in at The Gin. Can't remember ever seeing one at the Grill and was normally to blitzed to have noticed while at Forrester's, Irelands and the Grove.
I truly loved going to Ole Miss, great people, always a party somewhere, never had more than a 5 minute drive anywhere in town.

I don't know how long it's been since you were in Oxford, but the 5 minute drive thing is going away quickly. The town has grown, and traffic has picked up (even with them making Jackson Ave. 5 lane). On the other hand, when real estate went bust across the country, they just slowed building a touch in Oxford.

I graduated in 97 and as much as I hate to admit it I haven't been back since. Was in Memphis about 3 months ago and wanted to drive down but got lazy and went to Bealle St. instead.

Sounds like a cool place. I'm looking forward to it, and congrats again on getting the gig at Flight Express.

MSMSPilot, I wouldn't give your job up until you pass the sim eval on the first day. 4 out of 12 got sent home when I was there. Unless of course you are very confident with your SIM skills.

Can you give up self employment? It's not like my employer won't take me back.
