Music with Lightspeed Headsets

Can anyone comment as to whether or not the mp3 hook up broadcasts over the intercom or whether the music is only able to be heard by the person wearing the headset?

I have a pair of Lightspeed 15XL's, but won't be in an aircraft for a week or so. Never tried it before.

I also emailed lightspeed, but what say you?

i want hydraulics that make the plane go up and down, and a chain yoke made of polished steel
and probably some fuzzy dice
also, find the right adapters and plug the output from the mp3 player into a microphone slot

How about some 20" spinners on the wheels as well?
 
The aux audio input on any headset only plays in the headset. If you want to play over the plane's intercom you need to get an aux to RGA adapter and then plug it in to one of the free mic jacks. Be careful, depending on your audio setup this may or may not play over the air while you hit transmit. If you have a 4 seat plane, use the rear seat mic jack to avoid this.

Newer audio panels have a direct input port for MP3 players (many of them also have an audio out jack too for recording.)
