No, there are three models being built concurrently that do different things: The A model is the standard land-based fighter to replace the F-16 and A-10. The B model is the VSTOL version for the USMC to replace the AV-8 Harrier. And the C model is the USN version for aircraft carrier ops to replace early F/A-18 verisons.

So essentially, there are three different "A models" being built.

While I don't doubt how sweet this thing is I am a little skeptical about it being able to do everything they want to do with the different models. Replacing an A-10 with one especially.
