I don't know a heck of a lot about this company besides them being based in the cheese state and being a huge operator of Shorts...

But it does saying there hiring at 1000TT, 100 Multi, 50 Instrument, ATP Written, 1st Class Medical etc...

Weren't they hiring street captains at some point? Anyone know if they'll ever plan to do that again?

They definitely were about 5 years ago. I doubt that they are now with the industry the way it is though. There are one or two APC guys here on JC.
 
Finished a class recently. Probably won't be hiring more till there is some sort of wide-scale industry movement but who knows....

No street captains, plenty of more than qualified guys here already who could upgrade if required.
 
Yeah, I am not sure if they update the website a lot. I kept my resume current with them and never heard anything. I also knew they had 1 guy on furlough for a while, even though the website said they were hiring.

The shorts would be fun to fly. There are a couple of cargo ops down here in the Carribean that fly them too. M&N and Roblex Aviation... I see those out of STT all the time. They are the 360's too (single tail).
 
I too had a friend who was with them for a while. He said that initially it was a good gig, then company politics started to make life tough for crews. This info is 1.5 years dated so they may have made it through the turbulence by now.
 
I was hired there, elected not to go. Seemed like a good op and everyone I talked to who used to work there and has since gone on to greener pastures really liked it. One guy continued doing some moonlighting there after he moved on.
 
If you were a captain with ACC and got your pic turbine time. Could you got stright to a major? Would the majors even look at a shorts captain? Has anyone gone straight to brown? I guess my real questions is where to all the captains from ACC go?

1. Yes (We a few go to Delta in the last round of hiring, and hopefully more in this round)
2. Yes (Just had one get picked up with Air Tran)
3. Yes (and numerous to purple)
4. Everywhere
