Plane down at Stellar Air Park

anyone know anything, News is reporting a WWII aircraft possibly a P-51.

Crashed into a hangar apparently after hitting a wall. Appears to be a P-51 with one fatal. Crashed on the east side of the airport into one of the aviation businesses there, into the hangar next to the east taxiway.

The hangar impacted belongs to Ron Pratte, a Chandler car collector who has a large car collection and vintage aircraft collection in a series of hangars there on the east side of the field. He buys/sells alot on Barrett-Jackson.

If it's Pratt's bird (as I mentioned before), it may be P-51D 44-74469 "Red Dog", N514RP, which is based there at P19.

I just read elsewhere, it was SuSu another 51 on the field, RIP to the pilot :(

Forgot bout that one. That one is owned by Naz Hirani, who has an oil sales/distributorship for the valley located at the field there. 151TH or something like that.

I looked at the pictures, and am decidely unfamiliar with that airpark...but I'm wondering how the hell this happened? Perhaps a torque roll on a go-around? Is the hanger that he hit parallel and in a place that a go-around torque roll would be possible? Just can't feature what would happen...

Man I think I just saw that plane this morning when I flew into KIWA, a P-51 that same color. The guy taxied in front of my plane and waved, I think he was with a Steerman. That's just too bad.

If he was landing on RW 17, that's a potential possibility of how he'd end up there.....nearly perpendicular to the runway. Unknown though.

I was right. It apparently was Mr Hirani.

I think it used to be 151TH. The 151NH number fits the initials of the guy who owned it. This airplane has had lots of N numbers as a lot of people with an airplane like this want the initials of their name in it.

From a report I read sounds like a torque roll on a go around.
