Flight Boot Preference

I've been having trouble finding boots that fit right and don't feel like cement. What have you guys found to be comfortable and durable, both walking around and in the cockpit? Any suggestions?

Bellevilles are legit. If you are Navy, you can get them in brown (though you would probably know this if you were :) ), and you can get the same style in black as well.

If you go the Belleville route, be sure to get the model 770, not the "infantry combat boot"--which is very similar, but not as comfortable. Danners are even more comfortable--recommend either the Acadia or Recon models.

Personally, I was rockin' my old-school FWU-3/Ps today. :rawk:

Concur on the Bellevilles, I've got a brown pair. Work great and comfortable.

Maybe I'm just old school, but anything other than the Addison boots is just not right. They're very comfortable to me -- my current pair is on it's second re-sole.

I had a pair of Danner boots about 10 years ago and LOVED them.

I love my Addison boots, hard to find though. The Danner boots seem really nice.

Do you take your boots to a local shoe repair, or do you send them somewhere in particular? Mine will need to be resoled soon.

I've had to different shoe repair places do it. I went to a full-up cobbler over in England this most recent time.

I think it's just a matter of opinion and what you're used to. I don't remember Bellevilles being issued back when I first got my boots. I have a pair of Bellevilles, just never wear them.
