Harrison Ford slammed for 'unnecessary' flights

Just another attempt by progressive hypocrites to control our lives. Eviscerate executives for flying corporate jets, then hop in your government airplane (payed for by us), and jet to New York for a date or back home to California. While your at it run up a $100,000 catering bill... payed for by us. Chastise us peons for not doing enough to save the planet, then hop your private jet to Copenhagen and get driven around in a limousine to conferences where you bash everyone else for not doing enough to save the planet.

:yeahthat:

I'll take "Package Deal Fallacy" for $1000 Alex.

Well this is what I didn't want the thread to turn in to.

I wonder what plane he's flying up the coast for some food? My guess is that it's not his jet. That would be an awfully expensive plane to fly for that purpose. More likely he's flying his Beaver for short hamburger hops like that. Really, I just wanted to say beaver today.

Could have been any number of aircraft. Wiki says he currently owns the following:

Ford owns various aircraft:
de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver (N28S)
Aviat A-1B Husky (N6HY)
Cessna 525B CitationJet 3 (N5GU)
Beechcraft B36TC Bonanza
Cessna 208B Grand Caravan
1929-vintage Waco Taperwing
Bell 407
Cessna Citation Sovereign

I must admit, bro has incredibly good taste in aircraft.

Don't feel bad. I wanted to say it, too.

I'd imagine he shaves quite a bit off the carbon footprint of his travels when he flies the Beaver instead of the jet, though.

Anybody know how much gets shaved off with that Beaver?

Beaver, beaver.. BEAVER! :D

Why? I thought it was funny! :D
So, spewing simplistic points to cause division amongst the user base is funny?
Gotta bring some levity to this place sometimes! :)
Like I said, disappointed. :(

Pretty typical of the holier than thou types, you pick on them back they get all disgusted, and dont want to play anymore....gotta love it:p
Never met a person with a higher penchant for finding self righteous indignation than the Eviromentalists

So just how many toxic metals went into that "Prius" battery pack, anyhow...... point is its all a double standard.

What does your response have to do with who you quoted?

Just had to laugh at the indignation you were showing....I thought his comment started as good natured picking on you, and you got upset, did I misread you...? Did I misread the exchange.

So you are saying I am a holier than thou tree hugger?? You can call me a lot of things, but I am not a tree hugger! :)

My point was, a mod should not be stirring the pot and dividing the membership. Perhaps some won't see what he did as an example of that, but it seemed obvious to me.

I stand corrected , not directly, but your on the similar agenda, but I changed the tree hugger part anyway...:rotfl:I'm guilty I do like to watch a good pot stirring sometimes....here I'll buy you a free beer:beer: I didnt think what he said was any more than good natured JC pot stirring...oh well

Make it a nice 18 year Scotch, and you're on.

But it is true. Al Gore's carbon footprint is HUGE...much of it from the act of making huge money stirring climate change hysteria....uh, I mean, being a tireless advocate for the earth by promoting climate change.

Has your kid ever said something so stupid that you have to say to yourself, "Aw, that's cute kid, and I know you're trying but you don't have a clue."

That's you right now.

No...my kid is too smart to do that...

I did enjoy the post about the cross country 757 with $1 million in catering when G-V's were available. How much money and carbon footprint does a 757 leave that a G-V doesn't? And this is the House Speaker that presides over the body that passed Cap & Trade. I thought it was a relevant pointing out of hypocrisy. Al Gore's mansion, plane use and carbon footprint are relevant as well. It isn't so much that I'm a climate change denier - I do believe that climate change happens - and I also believe that man has some part in that. What I do deny is the absolute pressing need to destroy the national economy to stop something that I think man is not the largest contributer to.

Climate change advocates here (or anywhere):

  1. Cannot measure the absolute impact that man has on climate change.
  2. Cannot measure what impact Cap and Trade will have on the global climate.
Yet, with climate change whackos they feel it is necessary to point out Han Solo's flying, SUV's in general, and (in the case of the House) take steps to basically destroy the economy and put untold amounts of people out of work to solve a problem that they haven't quantified nearly enough to justify these actions. The climate change group here runs through my mind everytime I see the Southpark episode about the hybrid cars and the oncoming "smug" storm. I picture the JC Leftists bending over to smell their own farts just like in the episode.

Yes he does but you forgot what is in the big hangar:

I wish I had Harrison Ford's money and airplanes. I would be doing the same thing with zero guilt. My apologies to those who have entirely too much time on their hands to complain about it. If I was Mr. Ford I would reply with "How about I stick my carbon footprint up your hacky sack slingin a$$". ;)

That's a little rough, J. I know Waco can take it, but that's still a low blow to someone of his character.

Edit: And if you were just joking and Waco knows it - my bad!

These progressive liberal idiots really need to step back and see what they are saying. Look at Al Gore for example. According to Al Gore the whole north pole is going to melt and it is going to drown all of us.

The last picture I saw of Al Gore he was getting out of his GULFSTREAM and hopping into a black suburban.

If that isn't hypocritical tell me what is.

Good Day.

The earth has actually been cooling over the past six years. I really think the whole global warming thing is just a natural cycle, and not due to human activity at all.
