Prop Strike @ LAX

If this was Colgan there would be an outcry that they were unsafe.

What could've happened? Just like the Mesa -8 in PHX destroying the GPU. Just because you're pulling into the gate doesn't mean you don't have responsibility for the aircraft. Someone on the flight deck should have been paying attention.

Colgan does not fly into LAX

It was a Skywest bro. It struck the jetway.

Im going to start a petition to keep regional prop planes away from the jetways and on the ramp where they belong. They are called JETWAYS for a reason. ;) :sarcasm:

Uh oh...i can say, after only being on the job 2 weeks, I was there shortly after it happened. I saw the subsequent damage to the jetway and the aircraft.

I'll just say this, that is the tightest gate on T8.

How did the ramper not see the plane getting too close to the jetway is beyond me. How the pilot didnt realize he was going to hit the jetway is even FURTHER beyond me.

I want to comment on what happened, but i dont think i'm allowed to?

Unless your super man(being in law school has got to be tough), and your ticker tells lies, you ain't flyin nuthin right now, right:confused:? Hence the "you" in the fixed post.

Thanks kid, appreciate the commentary. The FAA hasn't revoked my certificates yet, and I've got a valid BFR and checkout down at the FBO.

I think he signs it every Friday.

Yea, what he said....:yup:

I don't remember signing anything in the paperwork in SLC that said I couldn't give any details about something I saw that made the headlines.

Unless you work in Corporate Communications, one would be better off keeping their mouth closed. While JC is not a newspaper you probably don't want to be making public statements about what may or may not have happened at work....

I'd be carfull with the kid comment, youngster. BTW, I'm not trying to get a rib shot, just was confused is all. You make it sound as if you want to go back to flying.

I'm in Texas. . .I hear "boy" on a regular basis, and I still raise an eyebrow. . .then consider the source. ;)

Hopefully, you'll need History or Discovery Channel to understand my perspective. :bandit:

Back to? I never quit. Just because I'm not in an RJ cockpit doesn't mean I don't fly anymore. Now given it's not with the frequency I'd like due to how expensive it is, but I have not, nor will I in the future, stop flying altogether.
