I swore at my wife today

Back in December I posted a thread about Swearing my son into the ANG, well today I swore at my wife but for a very different reason. I swore to her I'd come home safe. I was activated on Dec 23rd, and have been doing Med/Admin clearance and Mission Training at Ft. Benning and Ft. Hood for deployment. I ran home this weekend to say good bye one more time as we ship out this week for Afghanistan. I'll be flying for TF ODIN out of Bagram so if you find yourself there look me up and we'll have an International JC Meet and Greet. I'll be there till mid December .... sigh ...

Goodbyes were always the hardest part for me (and MOB ;)). Hopefully you and the family will be situated soon and clicking off the days.

You going back on active duty or something and just didn't announce it? Either that, or the Reserves are using and abusing you!

At least it's Bagram and not Kandahar... I always thought Bagram would be a great place for a resort hotel with all the mountains and nice weather... assuming all the bad guys were gone of course.

I sort of went back on AD ... temporary Orders till a full time slot opens up. The corporate gig dried up ... I was going to deploy regardless of my status but it was nice getting picked up the day after I got laid off. There is a reall opt. for me to stay AGR when I return off tour ... its very tempting, who would of thought I could make more money, be home more, and have a greater quality of life flying a King Air -vs- a jet ... the older I get the more important QOL is over how fast and how high I can fly ...
 
Hey J.M. Had to do the same type of swearing to make the trip as well. Come on...KAF ain't that bad...LOL! You have to come back down again, I enjoyed the Shindand gig. See you soon brother.
