To make it CLEAR.......

5 in one base?

You can tame the bonehead pilots in two ways:

a. The "Come to Jesus"* speech where you break down the facts and offer him a choice.
b. Fire one of the other five and perform "option a."

* Not religious, it's just slang for "Yeah yeah, I respect how you feel BUT this is how we're going to roll from here on out if you plan on staying employed with this company"

Hell, rumor has it that if you're on enough "No Fly Lists" and you're not someone like a Check Airmen where you have a valid reason for wanting to avoid flying with them (recovery flying), then you're given the 'jaundiced eye'.

Hah.. well make that list 6 for EC.. lol.. Hah, my buddy just flew with GV yesterday and seriously about got into a fist fight with him lol.. He got off that trip. That guy is a real winner.. He is actually pretty cool outside of the airplane oddly enough but at work he is a nightmare.. Total personality shift. That guy makes up his own rules as well.. most of them are retarded. I love how he never exceeds 200knts EVER and as soon as the mains touch down on the runway, flaps are coming up, bleed configuration gets changed, Anti Ice ENG on to clear the sensors lol.. all before the nose wheel even touches down.. yeah..

My first trip with GV was a DAL turn.:banghead: Nothing like every controller asking me why are we going so slow.

I actually dont mind flying with CS.. he's a compulsive liar but sorta entertaining haha.. wasnt nearly as bad as I expected after yrs of stories I heard, he's actually a nice guy. You know, for a Navy Seal that has a multiple degree's from MIT and teaches at Auburn and fixes the problem with the space shuttle tiles.. Im amazed he has the time to get to the middle east to punch out camels still! Must be nice being a millionaire pumpkin farming kingpin relaxing by your 37ft deep swimming pool between secret ops missions and embraer flights. :D

I make flying with CS fun. I like to ask him about his work on the 787 or his work on the SR-71.:D

I remember him asking me to lie to just about every controller because they constantly say "say airspeed EGL####" "just tell them we are doing .74 They won't know"..

Haha.. yeah you just gotta go with it.. I tend to get the long MIA flights with him so I keep him going with story time, I like to throw wrenches in his stories since I know a lot more about the Seals and some of these mlitary bases than I let him believe due to my background.. Its pretty funny watching him get tripped up and try to change things. My last American jumpseater with us after 2hrs of insane stories looked at me on the jetbridge after the flight and said WOW.. good luck with this guy.. haha.

I do have to say though that CS volunteered to do the walkaround for me on the ABSOLUTE WORST rainstorm day I have ever seen. It seriously looked like he jumped into a swimming pool when he got back he was so wet for the rest of the day.. so I will always remember that he did that for me.. and I cut him some slack:cool: Not many Captains would do that.

The most Notorious Japanese LAX SF3 Captain we had ended up becoming a friend of mine and a favorite Captain of mine.. He was just misunderstood due to cultural differences.. Kinda like the Soup Nazi lol.. He's now in ORD on the Jet.. I still hear FO's complain but he's a great guy if you take into account the vastly different culture.

CS is legendary in his level of BS. It's pathetic. Totally an example of someone who is SO utterly desperate for attention & validation from anyone that he has to make stuff up. It's really sad.

I kinda felt bad for the guy, and would usually just do the polite "MmmHmm, yeah, that's nice" thing when he would start telling his tales.

Delusions of grandeur does he have?

(Yoda asks!)

The list goes on indefinetly.. but these are the Main topics usually.:D

Oddly enough, he doesn't have the physic of a Navy Seal even though he is still actively involved in secret missions in the middle east, he was just there two months ago.. he is built more like Santa Claus lol.. must be all part of being a Spy.. No one would suspect him of anything, his disguise is fantastic.

Perhaps for a JS yes... But again remember why CRM has devloped into what it is today....

Remember the tragedy at Tenerife..... (if not perhaps you need to go watch the re-plays asnd videos out there by the FAA). I know at PSA we see it quite often when CRM is discussed.....

Yeah, uh, I thought we were talking about the JS?

You won't have an argument from me, or perhaps many others, in regards to real elements of safety. So, that said, stick to the original points meyers.

This isn't a post against you but the post made me think of it.

One of the major problems with the seniority based system is allowing first officers to upgrade that shouldn't be a captain. I've flown with plenty of guys that have zero business being a captain. No commandibility, lack of basic IFR knowledge, poor flying skills, etc.

Hard to fix this problem but it does exist.

Glad to see you dont have a hard-on for busting my balls.

'Preciate it.

But yes, I wholeheartedly agree.

And this, ladies and gentleman, is why I truly believe in personality and cognitive testing for airline pilots.

Funny thing is Eagle *did* have cognitive testing for quite a while that actually weeded out a number of people. Of course, Eagle didn't really even exist when this guy got hired.

Two camels in one punch is pretty awesome though.

One wonders if this guy is in fact a genius whose getting a laugh out of how much he can get over on them, or just gets his jollies on seeing how far he can go before someone calls him out. Or perhaps...he really has done all of this stuff! That'd be even funnier if he actually had done all that and is now a middle aged overweight airline captain.

I was just thinking that would be hilarious too.

Especially since no one believes him now...

"BUH I DI DOOO ITTTTTT!!!"

By the way, it is my dream to one day have a consulting firm on the side of my flying job, then when I fly with FOs, I can regale them with stories from my other job ;)

Did you ever ask him why he does this stuff? Flaps up on landing is something I've seen to keep from being blown off of the runway in high gusts, but that's more of a small airplane technique (though I've seen it in the hondo too)?

Most of these guys have either been around the block, or have some sort of crazy rationale for this sort of thing. Even if its invalid, they typically have one.

He likes to say 200KTS is the best speed for fuel savings. The real reason is over block. He like to pick up OT and then go 30 in 7 and get it dropped, but get paid for it. The flaps is because he likes to aero brake the jet.:banghead:

That seems like it could be lucrative... Don't tell anyone ;)
