As of this afternoon, I am a carrier qualified aviator. 5 traps yesterday and 5 today got me a qual on the USS Stennis off the coast of San Diego. Just thought I'd post a "yay me" thread![]()

Good job.
Um, probably a T-45....but still a kickass accomplishment! :clap:F/A-18E? If so, you're my hero, seriously. If it's the "F" model, yeah that's okay too!

Yeah it was in a T-45C, but still an incredible ride. I'll post pics that my friends took (I also have a video of me taking a cat shot from yesterday) when I get them uploaded.

Funny you say that, cause I'm convinced the guys and gals out working the flight deck are really the crazy ones! Seriously though, without the 40-odd folks out there working their butts off for 12-15 hrs straight, none of us would have ever gotten airborne. Gives a new meaning to the word trust as well when they are taxiing you around on deck....they will taxi your nose gear within inches of the edge to fit you in a tight spot (as I'm sure you saw). Also gives a whole lot of new respect for the term "taipipe courtesy" knowing you could literally blow someone over the side in a blink of an eye. No idea how they do it, but I was impressed!
I must say that all in all, there couldn't have been a better way to spend my 27th birthday![]()
