Out of the blue, they call me. Im pretty sure its for Frontier..anyone give me any insight into the interview process with them? I would be very interested in this position.

:)

Wow, you're getting a lot of practice with interviewing lately. :)

I'll defer to F9 here, but I imagine it's a standard aviation interview...just keep doing what you're doing, and I'm sure things will go fine. Plus, already having a job offer at Pinnacle will help take a lot of the pressure off.

I would say, just don't let Pinnacle know you're going for the interview! (There's never anything wrong with checking out other opportunities, but you don't want to start things off on a bad note with Pinnacle if you do end up going there.)

Stickks - I sent you a PM.

Not really sure how the process will go, but I imagine the folks at IND will be doing the interview. Which I find ironic because the people that you will work with our out here.

So as of now I am just as much in the dark as anyone

Oh they didn't just call you out of the blue.

We are losing 5 total (as of now) 2 SOC managers and 3 dispatchers by the 24 Jan. I expect some more will be gone in Feb as Jepessen goes for round 2.

We are going to be hurting for awhile, because it will take approx 3-4 weeks to get someone up and running.

F9 -

Do you know how many are going to be in round 2 for Jepp?

Im thinking another 5 will be going.

If Republic isn't careful - operations could be halted if there isnt enough qualified people. That might be a first, no flights today because of a lack of dispatchers

That would be amazing. Maybe you can use it to get a raise.

Maybe I should submit a resume in case the potential furlough actually comes through. It's only a 2 hour drive north up I-65.

Are the duty managers union and required to be current/qualified dispatchers?

Get a raise? :rotfl:

Are SOC managers have to be dispatcher qualified and they are not part of the union. The SOC folks at Republic are. One of those things that will have to be worked out.

Well you are more than welcome to submit your resume as you know what is best for you.

More like it is called overtime.

Seeings as the overtime schedule is going out, I am available for 9 shifts so far. If I was able to take all of it, I would be working from Jan 22 to Feb 15.

But that aint going to happen. Even though 90 hours at 1.5 rate would do wonders.

Well, as you know I just had my interview, I thought it went fine, although they get you in and out pretty quickly. I think I have a shot, as I have experience, i have experience on the software, and I am willing to relocate quickly. We will see how it all plays out.

Hey folks, not meaning to be too negative on my first post, but I interviewed for a Frontier dispatch job in IND last week.. I was there with a broad range of experienced people from cargo and other airlines, as well as green students..

I think I could speak for most of them in that the the whole interview process was a joke.. in an out with them in 25 minutes, no tour of the SOC, they asked 5 hr questions, told you where you stood in their interest or if you wanted to be in a hiring pool, then sent you out into the lobby to take a 3 page test of the basic stuff.. really easy.. but no tables to even write on, really just second class interview style..

They are offering $15.45 to start.. a class of unknown # was going to DEN next week with more classes planned in the near future.. they were only interviewing last monday and wednesday... and from what I witnesses and talked about over on Flightinfo, RAH got all the applicates they wanted for some time to come..

I was told by a RAH dispatcher that several of them are going over to the Frontier side, they have to give up all their seniority and start over as a new hire with probation and all..

The union has done nothing to intergrate or get envolved with the two SOC's according to my source there at RAH..

I am in the pool.. I guess..

Well I don't know how many from Republic are coming over to Frontier. Yes they will lose their seniority and have to start over but their pay will increase. I think a Republic Dxer with 4-5yrs seniority makes less than a first yr F9. So they would see a pay increase.

As far as seniority goes, they may get it back when the two are merged. If so they basically get an instant pay raise.

Integration has not started and won't till everything/everyone is up and running in IND

Supposedly the new people will start this coming Mon. LOL.

It will take approx 3 weeks to get them up to speed. Just in time for the another 5 to be gone. Maybe more.

Well I still havent heard anything. They did call my former employer and check my work history. So I am still wondering if i am still in the running for this...

Sure you are. Didn't Mesa make you wait a long time after interviewing if I recall?

This weeks/month class was filled last wednesday according to a source of mine at RAH. He is going on the next class... they don't seem to know how many they will need for the next class.. so I suspect your in the hiring pool of the next class selection when ever that is..

yeah well sure would have been nice of them to let me know either way.

I am 100% positive RAH SOC employees visit JC. A great way to not get a job is to complain about the company you just interviewed with.

Again, excuse me, I was not complaining. I said it would have been nice to at least let me know I wasnt selected. That is not complaining. I have a job, I have 20 years of job history, and I really dont need someone telling me that I am complaining when im not. It is common practice in any job field on a interview at some point to let you know you werent selected for the job.
