150 seat C series

JP Morgan upgraded Bombardier stock off a rumor it is building a 150 seat C series plane to compete with the 737.

If you guessed nothing... you're right!

Nah, honestly it'll be a mainline plane (unless something drastic happens). It'll be a 737 payscale.

We'll see, I doubt it though, aren't the big embraers that compass operates practically mainline sized, and those guys don't make mainline pay.

Compass? They are 76 seats. Same as Mesaba/Comair/SkyWest/Mesa CRJ 900s.

Some of the USAirways feed has the 88 seat stuff you might be thinking of. They can't fit that many without a first class section.

The Embraer 195 is the next one up -- that is 100+ seats (jetBlue, USAirways, and Republic as Midwest in the USA).

Close...

E175 for USAirways is 86
E190 is the Largest E-Jet in NorthAmerica at the moment most configured to 99/100 seats with FC.

Damn, 100 seats and it has a first class section? Didn't look THAT big to me. Never been inside one though.

The thing is long. It caught me off guard the first time I had to push one.:insane:

That's what she said?

Nah. There are still plenty of people out there that think anything made by Bombardier or Embraer = regional jet. These are people I want to beat sense into.

Bombardier makes the Regional Jet.

They trademarked it.

In reality, there is no regional. There are just 50 seat jets that certain folks didn't want to fly.

And before that, those folks didn't want to fly turboprops because they were jet pilots.

I hope the lesson was learned, but I doubt it.

Actually its going to be a replacement for the Airbus. It was created with the 319/320 market in mind because that has been an untapped resource for about 25 years.

What does "RJ" in ERJ stand for, then?
