Looking good there ATN_Pilot

I actually had to go buy a hat that morning because my old one had been getting crushed in my trunk for months. :D
I gotta give you props - your shirt collar fit and your tie was all the way up. And you didn't have your hat kicked back like a bus-driver's cap. Some of your brethren could learn from you.

All airlines provide comparable service.

It's clearly a 'feel good' measure for anyone to talk about the brand and the service providers behind it when each airline (from a consumer perspective) has a long history in service, notable brand, and competent flight crews. The unfortunate event in commercial flying is that it's not a service that people buy. That's been demonstrated time and time again with the service-elite carriers that have simply been to bogged down by unreasonable amounts of overhead and can not provided a competitive value.

Recent research has shown that empirical evidence for globalization of corporate innovation is very limited and as a corollary the market for technologies is shrinking. As a world leader, it's important for America to provide systematic research grants for our scientists. I believe strongly there will always be a need for us to have a well articulated innovation policy with emphasis on human resource development. Thank you.

Ha! A classic! Another one...

"Well, of course, their requests for subsidies was not Paraguayan in and of it is as it were the United States government would never have if the president, our president, had not and as far as I know that's the way it will always be. Is that clear?"

ya know, just before I read your post I was going home thinking my hat is getting kind beat up from being crushed. It always finds a way of falling behind my seat in the plane and when we finish the shut down checklist, I roll back, only to find my hat blocking the way. Yeah, I think its time.

I'm sending you a Drill and Ceremonies manual Todd. Whoever was calling out the prepatory commands and execution commands, as well as the cadence, for the formation...needs work. :D

And btw......yer off my jumpseat!

:D

BTW- you wouldn't believe level of hate our company pilots have for the hat. It's really disturbing because the company offered a 5% override pay for flying the 700 and they accepted it. But when talk came of having to wear a hat, we had guys that we left for dead rising up out of their graves protesting. They also dropped the drinking rule to 8 hours from 12, and that one really had them going.

You can take away their money, but don't make them wear their hats, and strip them of their booze. (the smart ones see the big picture and move onto greener pastures realizing the lack of solidarity of the pilot group....meaning its just going to get worse..sorry had to take my jab).

IMO, the hats are impractical for airline guys. That said however, if they're part of the required uniform, then you wear them when you're supposed to. Otherwise join an airline that doesn't have one as part of the uniform.
