Vegas night XC

Our 206 just came out of some heavy MX, new fuel bladder, exhaust manifold, engine mounts, brakes, wing extensions, rejubulator, paint, duct work, new injectors, our mech want through this thing with a fine tooth comb.

Got a call from the boss after work, saying we needed to pick our airplane in Mesquite, NV (67L) and fly it back to Jean (OL7). It was a lack second flight. It was a beautiful night, hadn't flow a night XC in a long time. (You high time jet jockeys go fiddle with your flight director.) It was absolutley beautiful out, full moon, and flying over the Vegas strip at 12.5 was one of those moments, you think to your self, " I am glad I become a pilot." How many people get to see Vegas like this?

Your post reaks of hypoxia! J/k. I do Vegas runs with my inst. srudents for the IFR 250 whenever I can. Get some cheap food, see some shows, and head home.

I would say you lucky sob if I didn't already fly in sin city everday :rawk: ..... Getting clearance threw bravo over Mccarren has the best view of the strip......Still can't get as low as the copters, but 4k to 5k feet is one hell of a good view of vegas

Holly crud, hypoxia and tired as heck. Yeah there are a few errors "Lack minute flight?" Some syntax and formatiing errors, ah heck...I had a couple glasses of wino and was half asleep when I wrote that...

hehe - what's a rejubulator? :P

Flying into McCarran at night is great, especially when they ask you to fly towards the Stratosphere then turn base :)

Alex.

What is a rejubulator? It controls the jubulations that counter the PIO during times when PIO need to be countered. Ha ha, an Army commo buddy of mine introduced me to the word "rejubulator." Wonder when someone was going to catch that.:rotfl:

I remember hearing a former vegas instructor saying it was hard to not have his students see the light from the luxor to use for navigation, between that and seeing the stratosphere, you have a good cardinal heading of north and south.

The closest I have come flying myself and seeing the Vegas strip at night was doing pattern work at North Las Vegas (VGT) ;)
