G58 Baron

I see the Aerostar designer. True there are faster designs, but one design is still in production. The Baron is nothing to sneeze at, that is all I'm saying.
It is not the end all and be all machine, but it is dang capable.

*shrug*. At FLX we could haul the same amount of rubber dog doo at maybe 25 knots less in a 210 on half the power, and there were no W/B issues in the 210. And the Overgrown-Baron (aka the 99) gets passed like it's standing still by...wait for it, jetcareers, the MU-2 on basically the same power and lower fuel burn.

I thought you said get with the 21st century. The MU-2 isn't quite the new airframe you're raving about. I'm kind of liking these new specific fuel flows of the light jets coming out. 600pph doing 350TAS. Pretty incredible if you ask me.

You like the MU2. We get it.

Hey no fair I did the obligatory bow to me riding my hobby-horse. Besides, I like the 210 too (and the Aerostar gives me a warm feeling in my pants). I just find the love of Beeches utterly perplexing. Yeah, they're easy to fly without killing yourself. Yawn. ;)

Sure, if you can climb to the flight levels and become a flying roadblock for the jets (and you don't want to carry anything). The PC-12 would be a much better choice to throw in my face. ;)

Hard to be a roadblock in the early a.m. hours. There is a lot of airspace up above 10k for them to route everyone effectively. Down lower everyone does 250 anyways. I'd say the PC-12 is a much bigger roadblock because you can't do 250 in the terminal. Most cargo areas are close in cubes as the PC-12s cargo area(only use behind emergency exit). There are a TON more LSO's on the newer light jets to keep you flying. I'm not throwing anything in your face, just advising my opinion from experience.

I confess to not knowing what an LSO is. And yes, of course, all in good fun!
I heard a rep from one of the new light jets throw that term out there. I believe it's a Line Serviceable Object(? not sure about the O). Makes replacement of things that break often really easy and quick to replace. Antennas, gens, fuel pumps, avionics, ect. couple hours at most for everything. Even engines now adays are designed to be replaced in half a day.

Let me tell ya. I had to wait about 4+ hrs for a vac pump to be replaced in a baron. It's rediculous how much they had to remove and reinstall just to get to that darned thing. AHARS is your best friend.
