Planespotting on the Today Show.

I saw that - I hate that show, but my old lady watches it. Interesting, except their spotters had a horrible spot.

NYCAviation wasn't it?

OH well, good for them getting the word out so maybe the LEO's will leave us alone. :)

That was the worst thing I've ever seen. Is this what they get paid to do? Whine & complain? I really really dislike Al Roker. And for the record Ann, the last time I was "actually excited to go to the airport" was this morning, even though it sits in a freezing fog bank.

Actually they usually just bring people on that whine and complain.

"My suuuun can't go to da school anymore cause he brought his toy army gun!"

Agreed, though - this piece sucked.

I don't understand how someone can't be impressed by a huge piece of metal lifting off like it's nothing, and that beautiful sound! Ignorant people.

Roker apparently knows what it's like to kiss his sister. I don't know if it's because I am obviously biased, but that piece was horrible and not even "air worthy". :D

Very lame. Why take the time to "report" on something you obviously have no interest in? If you don't apperciate it, find someone who does so others will enjoy the hobby. They should have given him a piece about wake turbulence.

I find going to art museums as interesting as watching paint dry. People must be crazy for going. Quick, story at 1000 on MSNBC.

Terrible terrible piece.

You people are harsh with those that have a decenting opinion.

Geez. Not everyone loves aviation, asa much as you all do, and I personally thought it was funny. It showed the perspective of the non-aviation type very well, IMO.

For all you that gripe about this peice, if your signifigant other dragged you to say a bridal convention, would you do, and if so would you be excited?

After all there are people that go to bridal conventions for fun, much akin to plane spotters and airports.

Different strokes, for different folks.

Great, whatever. If you don't like it, then why report on it and make it blatantly obvious you're not enjoying it? Roker is a d-bag pre-story anyways.

I totally agree, I can't believe it, the whole time they were just "hating" on us plane spotters. I also got "actually excited" just yesterday when I flew.

Ummmm...they were assigned. I can bet you that Matt Lauer doesn't like jaunting around the world to play "Where In the World is Matt Lauer."

But, bet he loves the paycheck and perks.

True, different strokes for different folks. But bridal convention? I'll try it. Rock climbing? Let's give it a go. Listen to the botany themed dissertation of PhD candidate? Sure, why not?

While I understand they may not be as thrilled as the rest of us about aviation, what frustrates me is the attitude of blase and jaded negatitivy. C'mon they're reporters...leave the opinion at home and bring the same attitude to your job that you once did as a lowly intern, before you were receiving the huge paycheck for doing nothing but complaining about the assignment you were given. (I just really detest al roker, d-bag extraordinaire)

Ugh, the miracle of flight, how horribly boring! Just preboard me into 1A, give me an ambien and a bloody mary, and leave me alone til we get to paris. eyeshades optional.
