Last day of testing for PUBNAT 8

Today is the last day of AT-SAT testing for PUBNAT 8. The next step in the process is Geographic Preferences, or Geo Prefs, I've been told to expect those in early 2010, probably Jan, Feb, or Mar. I've heard a lot of negative things about PUBNAT 8 hiring, but hopefully it will turn out for the best, and we'll finally moving on to the next step of the process.

From reading in the other threads, there are so many referred candidates from prior PUBNAT's that I bet it will be several months before referral lists are generated for PUBNAT8. I know we put geo pref's on our applications, but has anyone received an email invite to officially select geo prefs yet?

The prefs you put on the initial application were discarded. A lot of people don't realize that they're actually not supposed to do it then; I put them in the first time too. If you look through the application description and instructions, it's in there somewhere.

Anyway. Generally speaking, you'll receive the invite a few weeks before the panels your group will be considered in. The January panels, at least as far as OTS applicants are concerned, are out; if you're still on for the ones in April, you should be getting the email sometime in March.

In the meantime... uh... you can kill time watching this guy.

Well, like the rest of us, the ASAP application we were directed to fill out the geo prefs on the application. On the USA Jobs site, it directed us to fill out United States - Throughout the Nation. So, for those playing the home game, the same job had two different instructions. So what did we do, cover our bases by pick 1 - USA throughout the nation, and picks 2-10 what we wanted.

Just saying.

Direct quote from PUBNAT8's application description, accessible via ASAP, just under "More Information About This Job":

Applicants should select "UNITED STATES" & "THROUGHOUT THE NATION" for location preference...... You will select your preferred duty locations/facilities assignments at a later date through our office, please be patient with the process......

Trust me, I've filled out seven of these stupid things, it doesn't ever tell you to pick where you want to go. Just be glad that we're not ranked based on how well we read that part of the application.

Took the AT-SAT on November 17th, 2009. Scored 100.

From what I gather, no one that took the test at that time has really been contacted yet? I am good to sit tight still?

Yep; take a seat, grab a drink, and find something good on TV, because it's going to be quite a while.
