Bets on when regionals will fly 737s in the USA?

Sweet.

This new technique is going to do wonders for my gravitas! :)

Do you think it is inevitable? If so, when will it happen and who do you think will be the first to do it?

Inevitable...NO. If someone figures out it will save/make a buck if a regional starts flying the 737/320's then someone will do it.

the airline industry is no different than any other industry in the country right now. Nearly every corp. out there believes doing more work with less people at lower pay = more profit. QOL does not matter!

RJ's are just that. They move more people (than a J41) for less money (lower pay than mainline pilots) so yeah, if they figure out it would save more money someone would do it.

who do I Think. Republic. It seems that man is on a mission to grow his airline! I know a very senior southwest CA who still fly's but is part management too said SWA would NOT lose out on the frontier deal! obviously they did, shows the tenacity at which rah went after frontier.
yes i'm just an outsider looking in, but the struggles I see in the airline industry are no different than the struggles I've seen in the transportation industry. Benefits and pay were always the issue. I have rode one major carrier to the ground. 18,000 people lost their jobs, on labor day!
It will probably happen again within the next year. Another old carrier will probably fold costing another 20k job losses.

here is another question in regards to regionals. Why hasn't SWA started to use them?

When we hire again, please contact me ASAP. :) !!!!

(I hope you guys realize that I'm engaged in a little comical internet ballyhoo!)

I'm going to take the "other" road and disagree with you. I don't need no stinkin' recommendation for agreeing with someone on the internet!!!:pirate:

I need an in at Delta in case the UPS doesn't hire.
:D

I guess no one read about the upcoming pilot shortage. I mean a FBO that slaps a major's name on it and churns out pilots can't go wrong. I mean Kit Darby was in business for years, so obviously all his predictions came true.

The upside is the obvious upcoming hiring wave.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know, but first it was deregulation. Then it was a recession. Then it was the re-modeling of the domestic model with the introduction of the RJs. Then it was terrorists. Then it was age 65. But I promise it's coming.

Who knows, maybe UPS300.com.et.al is really BT there in SDF and can grant that wish.
