Really low time. I don't care where it is, I live in Austin can be out of this place three hours ago. Just looking for something that pays and gives me 15 + hours a week.

How do you have a CFI with only 250TT?

Thanks for the help

It was just a simple, legitimate question......And one that will be asked more than once. Just a bit of advice....Lose a bit of the 'internet attitude' and be prepared for more of those types of questions when posting. Being new it will help others in gaining a little background knowledge that would help them in answering questions.

I suppose it is possible if he took his CFI shortly after his Comm. Heck, I tell people all the time to fly their commercial checkride from the right seat and talk until their instructor shoves an AFD in their mouth.

not happening.

a) most cargo is single pilot 135

b) theres a million people with more time and experience right now.

either CFI or look for other work.

Best bet is to CFI. If you are willing to move then you can find CFI jobs, even in todays economy. I'm not saying those are going to be Tier 1 CFI jobs though with your low experience but it gets you flying to build on your experience. One example is Sierra Academy in Atwater, CA. Not a great place to work but due to that they are hiring.

Move to FL or So-Cal and fly banners (if you can get someone to let you w/250 hrs). And keep instructing, it's about all you got right now.

I was a Commercial-Multi and CFI-II @ 195 hours.

Reason why flying at 141 schools is cheaper not more expensive.
The degree at riddle is outrageously expensive but those that say the flying is are naive or just not competent enough to finish ratings at TCO mins.

You don't even need 141. You could get 50 hours of the 250 required total time in commercial in a flight training device, and I've heard some people do their CFI in like 3 hours after commercial. One school I saw actually trained for commercial, and the DPE tested the applicant for commercial, with the guy right seat, so you wouldn't even have the left to right seat transition really. :) (I, on the other hand, took my sweet time, haha!)

How much does Riddle charge per hour for a 172 (or an equivalent airplane if they don't have them)? I agree that 141 can save a little money, but you can get the commerical in only 10 more hours part 61 if you do the 50 FTD.

We are a 141 school and the prices are not too bad. Just curious what the bigger schools are charging these days. But at my home airport in WI, they only charge 85 per hour for a 172, and I think we charge 110 or so.

I flew there 5 years ago so I have no idea. But at the time people were saying it was crazy expensive because it was $5 more for a brand new 172 vs. the 61 FBO programs.

Uhhhh, you dont even meet 135 VFR mins and you are looking for a cargo job. Better find a two pilot op that requires a SIC

Alright lets rephrase...Lifeguard pilots, medical supplies flights, or just some SPECIFIC places that might be looking to hire low time pilots. IE. Specific banner towing companies, flight schools, ferry flights, anything?

You should have good knowledge of the low time postions where you fly. Most the low time postions wont be advertised anywhere. They will be filled by word of mouth or just by being in the right place at right time. Just go check out the operations in your area and see.
