hey all I am sure i remember reading that DL allows offline jumpseaters to travel international but just wanted to be sure that nothing has changed and that it is still allowed. As I recall you have to have a seat in the back but are there any more restrictions other than the usual??

thanks in advance,

-Jay

Be at the ticket counter at least 90 minutes prior to departure to ensure the flight is still open to list on.

I have used delta to go to Manchester, UK and the Czech Republic. Delta is very accomodating and the guys up front will try to hook you if at all possible.

As long as you don't work for a Delta Connection carrier, you can go as much as you want. :rotfl:Makes a ton of sense.

The knife.....someone get it out of my back.....it's.....twisting.

Yeah, unless you're one of the privileged few DCI carriers, you're basically looking at one int'l trip a year unless you wanna pay for it. American, Continental and anyone else? SURE! Come ride along! Someone with actual Delta benefits? You gots to pay, sucka.

Same with us an United. I have been to Munich twice this month on UA. All 4 legs were as an OMC, and I was charged for all 4 legs as a non-rev. What a joke.

And I just realized that this is probably the reason why UAL has just approved of letting every colgan employee the ability to have UAL benefits, no matter what plane you fly, or what base you are in. Because if you are in the system with benefits, youll get charged eveb if you jumpseat. Those mother fathers.

I am a 2 1/2 year Eagle FO and we have to pay on Eagle and American for domestic for 5 years. Everyone, all the way up to the most senior AA captain pays for international. It's taxes and fees but can add up. Chicago to Frankfurt will cost you about 50 bucks to sit in coach one way.

We have unlimited international on Delta and those guys are great. I try to fly offline whenever I can. The only drawback I see is that you don't have access to look at the loads and have to depend on calling a non rev number or just the plain old res number for help.

The point is - we WOULD pay.

But we get THREE legs per year international on Delta. The penalty for exceeding this amount is "up to and including termination for pass travel fraud".

How many does CMR, CPS, and XJ get?
I think CHQ guys only get 24 legs a year on AMR (AA or Eagle) flights. Priority is the same for Eagle and AA employees on main line flights.

You might want to look at it a bit more. I'm sure it varies by airline but at mine we get more days per year and even if you want to exceed that #, you just tell them in advance and they give you some sort of ID95 pass at a reduced standby priority. The catch is you need to keep track of your #, try to exceed it without the ID95 and you get charged something like a 300 dollar fee. And of course the whole pass travel fraud thing you mentioned.

You'd think I'd know my company procedures. "RegionalCo" says (I can't post anything negative, there's a memo about that too)

If an eligible traveler uses more than their 3 international flight days, then the employee will be subject to a service charge by Delta and disciplinary action.

Of course, I can't find said memo that says up to and including termination, but I think this other one encompasses it:

Let me reemphasize that talking to the media without approval and direction from Corporate
Communications could result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Whoever you think I work for, I don't. The name of the company I work for is "RegionalCo".

Wherever this is that I work, I could get in trouble.

I don't 'think' you work anywhere. I have no idea nor do I want to know. In any case I was just trying to help since int'l travel procedures are convoluted and change frequently. We get ID95s after we run out of free days, maybe you guys did too. No need for the defensive tone, honest! :)

That wasn't for you. Just in case the company spooks are watching (which they are), I just wanted to make it clear that RegionalCo is the best company in the world!

Shoulda been more clear, but clarity is hard to come by at 10 minutes until 4 AM...

Honestly, what are they gonna do? Fire you (and me) for telling the truth? Not sure about you, but I think I'd have a pretty decent "unlawful termination" lawsuit.

I THINK we can do the ZED thing after our "travel days," but I don't know what level it is. The ZED fares they charge for our parents, it's cheaper to drive to BNA, LIT, BHM or JAN, BUY a ticket on SWA and then get a guaranteed seat.

I believe it is unlimited for all three.

Its true. I jumpseated from SFO to SEA and somehow it got onto my pay stub. Didn't know United charged for jumpseating!
