Yeah, All I remember is that I got at least a 70.

Anything over that just means you studied too hard/much.

One of the examiners around here said 80-90 is target, anything over that and an applicant studied just the answers.

Not too hard considering there are around 100 questions available for the test. Now actually knowing the material is the challenge.

My degree is in education and I can tell you that there are several FOI test questions that were clearly put into the pool of questions to appease somebody's pet theory. The Flight Instructor's Handbook also has a lot of theoretical & background stuff that I never heard of in college. The good news is that little, if any of it is on the test.

One of the better ironies of my career to date: I spent 5 minutes taking the test and got a 100 thanks to pure rote memorization, which is one of the highest levels of learning, right after correlation. :)
