Beautiful plane!
I don't know about you guys, but that fuselage looks awfully draggy. After some research, this thing only has 1,900 lbs of thrust. Something tells me this thing is no speed machine, at all. Heck, even the ugly Diamond D-Jet looks nicer than this.
In any case, those are some sweet pictures.
300 knots
Yeah, I'll believe that when I see it. The comparably sized D-Jet claims a cruise speed of 240.
Max cruise speed is actually 315 in the D-Jet. 240 is the best range cruise speed.
I understand that. What I don't understand, is how a jet the fundamentally is bigger (SJ-50 versus D-Jet), an yet is going to go faster, on less thrust. Granted, I'm no engineer, but I don't think the SJ-50 is that much of a cleaner airframe to get it those numbers.
Think Piaggo Avanti P.180II.
I kind of see that, after looking at it for a while now. That said, I'd bet this 300 knot cruise business is a marketing number, not from the flight guys.
I personally use the 10% rule. 10% less range, speed, payload, space etc......
