Aviation College Program!

Maybe my college aviation program is different because it's small but I love it. Most of the guys are pretty cool and not nerds (there are some hardcore nerds too). I think going to an aviation college will definitely help my career. My professors and alumni are great for networking and I've met several people who can potentially help me BIG time just by attending this program.

I like Tennessee because the cost of living isn't high and the weather is favorable. The chief pilot was a Marine helicopter pilot and has many stories of Desert Storm (I think it was that war).

The airplanes are well maintained minus the flaws of Piper Arrows. The runway is a little shorter than the others but it makes good for short-field landings.

The town is not that large so traffic isn't that bad. I currently still live here because I cannot get out!

P.S. There is a working 727 donated by FedEx on the ramp that I had a chance to start-up. :nana2:

How long have you been at UAA?
This is my second year.

Hmm, they do say the best pilots come from Alaska, Is the program that good though?
Its hard to say. I have never seen pilots from any other programs. But the flight program is good.

I agree.

I love psychology and the social sciences, but I kind of wish that I had done a piloting and/or maintenance degree; I think college might have been a tad bit more fun for me if I had. Do what you want to do in college because you're going to be there for 4 years or so and doing something you hate just to have a backup from aviation or to finish a degree to check the box on the application will wear you down really fast.

Besides considering that only around 25% of the US population ever completes a college degree (although 40% try it and drop out), any degree from an accredited university will put you ahead of the pack.
