It feels like someone punched me in the gut. I didnt know him personally, but I feel most on this board are here because they want to learn and also want to help other become better aviation professionals. Ben was always helping others. It shows a quality of character that not everyone posses and it is a sad day to lose someone who posses this trait.

Condolences to his family and friends, and may he rest in peace.

What a terrible thing to wake up to. I never knew him personally, but I knew him here. I always recognized him and appreciated what he put into this site. Truly sad to hear. RIP Ben

Indeed the aviation community is small, and each loss of one of our own sends shockwaves through our tight band. While we mourn the dead and console their families, we also celebrate the lives they led and take comfort in the fact that should ever one of us fall, we will be remembered by those who share the passion of flight.

My deepest condolences to his family. He will be missed here.

Kind of a crappy way to start the morning. Wake up turn the tube on and first thing you see is your former instructor died in an accident. He really knew is stuff. Taught me alot and will be missed.

RIP Ben

Sucks. I learned a lot about aviating and teaching from his posts. RIP man.

I've only known him through the posts he left on this board, but even then it was obvious how he cared for his family. He's certainly going to be greatly missed, both at home and here. Rest in peace, Ben.
