I met Ben at NJC 07, he was manning the keg for a bit when he noticed me walk by without a beer in my hand, and promptly stopped me and without asking 'forced' my first beer of the night on me. We ended up talking for half an hour or so about training stuff as I had just gotten my AGI and was teaching my first ground school, and moving into a "D.O." role at the flight school and he had just gotten his CFI certs if I remember correctly.
Great guy from that conversation and the hundreds more he shared on the forums.
I'm sure if his wife and kids need anything the JC community is just a phone call or an email away.

Look at the 8th picture one the KSL website to see just how close he was to the runway ....

RIP. he is a great guy and will be missed around here and in real life. I've met him once as we flew out of the same school. Sad times for the family.
