Congrats!!

And I whole-heartedly agree with the small wedding. Ours was a small family-only affair and it was perfect, no-stress & I'd do it exactly the same way again.

Congrats, Regardless of what your buddies will say, marriage truly is an amazing thing.

We had a big 'ish wedding, about 300 people, I just feel bad that her parents are still paying for it. I would have been fine either way.

I have about 6 more months of freedom. We weeded the guest list down to family and immediate friends (140ish ppl). I told her from day one, there is no need to have a large wedding, it will just tack on more debt.

And I'm constantly getting chewed out for not helping with the planning. I could careless what color things are, so you might want to help out a bit to avoid confrontations. ;)

Haha, went through the same thing this summer. I don't give a damn what color this crap is! I just want to drink and.........:D

Congrats!
I agree my wife and I had a small family wedding and it was so fun and relaxing. Plus were not still paying for ours 3 years later like some of our friends.

Our plan is to get hitched on a cruise ship or in Vegas. Either way, all JCers invited. Now i just need to propose...

Congrats man!

Small wedding = good planning!

Besides, why do you want to buy that uncle that you wouldn't pee on if he was on fire a 4-star dinner? :)

Congrats...

Yeah, a small wedding is the way to go. We did ours down in Cozumel and had an absolute BLAST!!! The actual wedding was less than 3K and the whole thing (about 9 days down there) was less than 5K. This was at the Iberostar resort...a damn nice place. Honestly, it was THE BEST vacation I have ever had. I think when it was all said and done, there were about 25 people down there with us.

Quit your griping.......no one put a gun to your head to get married.

.....or maybe they did? :)

keep your freedom, stay single. There's still time to be saved!

I hear ya man!

But here's something that I've learned. Women will bring you three options of any single item.

They've probably chosen those three out of a group of perhaps 20 options.

They either like one of the three and want you to chose the one they like to confirm their choice; or they like all three and want you to play tiebreaker. So if you: (a) "Don't care", (b) "Like 'em all" or (c) "Like something else", there's gonna be drama.

Go drink a beer and realize that when the first shots of the wedding are fired, people are only going to remember a good time, whether or not they liked the food (as opposed to WHAT they ate) and the new people they met.

Napkins, color schemes, silverware, glassware, cumberbunds, sashes, doilies, trinkets, or even M&Ms that have "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" on them are going to be forgotten so I'd suggest not spending an inordinate amount of time/money worrying about it.
