A friend just showed me an interesting site that opened a few days ago.

The graphs are sort of cool, but what I thought was especially cool is the "Notifications" feature. It lets you register and set up profiles for any airport with an automated weather report. If the weather meets whatever criteria you set up (winds beyond X knots, ceilings below X feet, etc.) it will send a text to your cell phone or e-mail you to let you know.

My friend is a flight instructor and likes it for having a heads up about if she'll be able to fly or not. For instance, you could be out of the office and away from a computer, then get a text as soon as the weather drops below the minimums you allow students to solo in. Kind of neat.

Pretty cool idea.

I never thought about putting it into graphics. It is interesting to see it that way.

Would be nice to be able to put a time frame. Like text from 0330 to 0500z or something similar. That would make it perfect. Especially if the forecast was part of it.

You can limit the notifications to certain times. I think my friend limits hers to between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. local because she rarely flies at night.
