I am also going to OKC on 10/07/09 :rawk: Not sure where I am staying yet but I need to figure that out soon. Can anyone tell me how long terminal classes are?? I read on here that it is 53 classroom days but am not sure if that is accurate.

i said "cup of java" thats a form of coffee.

Kim's place is really cool if you enjoy a good home cooked meal every day and socializing in a family environment.

im not saying im a bad person, im just a picky eater and enjoy socializing in a non-family environment.

plus i've been playing instruments for close to 15 years. i'm not stopping because "Bobby Joe" down the hall needs his beauty sleep or because "Anna Sue" doesn't like my music.

I'm just saving Kim the frustration and worries of the impact of my presence under her roof.

Toured my facility today! Very cool. I had toured a few other facilities while I was in the early stages of this whole process, but it was definately cool to be there and really know that... This is where I'll be working! Everyone was very cool, friendly helpful and supportive.

If you haven't toured your facility yet, go do it tomorrow, IMHO it makes it that much sweeter!

Dreamer, I am from PUBNAT 6 and headed to OKC on Nov. 4th. Just remember the whole facility need thing. Most of these 3/4 folks (I think) are going to facilities that didn't have a major staffing issue....thats why they are late out of the gate. So if you are going to a decently staffed FAC, it may take some more time.....keep the faith, we've been through too much!

very true, i was just curious, i figured we would probably all get called at the same time....after this long of waiting the faith is always high the lights getting brighter at the end of the tunnel...

I also posted this on s/m for some direction when choosing a place to stay.


I have heard that it's not worth staying at Kim's Place or Isola Bella because they take all $1500 of your per diem for rent each month. A couple of my friends got back from the academy a few months ago, and each one had the same advice- find a place that is cheaper than $50/day and you can save a ton of money.
My buddy recommended Monclair Parc which is ~$700 a month for a 1 bedroom, and is supposed to be awesome. You rent furniture (furnitureoptions.com is a good option) and get cable and your all set... should come out to about $1000/month which gives you $500 extra to save each month!!

I couldn't agree more with this statement. Montclair parc is amazing and the staff is super friendly. The place is in immaculate condition and if you can find someone to room with you'll be leaving with an extra grand or two in your pocket. Not to mention since 104th is now open to MacArthur blvd you can get to the academy in 10 minutes if you hit the lights just right.

Montclair parc for the win!

Just got the call 10 minutes ago...Dec 31st class date! I have to re-take the drug test since it will expire by then but its all good.

So here's to everyone still waiting. :beer: Will be 1.5 years since my initial application to OKC.

What Pubnat were you and where are you headed?

On a different note. I wish everyone would put that info in their signatures. You know we're going to ask if you post you got a class date!

Also, congrats. I'm sure there are a lot of people on here as jealous as I am.

Congrats! I just got more of a delay, "sometime after april". Will be two years in April since my first app. This Blows.
