IWR's officially over Oct. 1

sweeeeet....SHORTS BABY! haha

I do believe the new contract doesn't state shorts are allowed. Not that it would be a big deal seeing as controllers don't work out in the sun. The language goes back to the old clothing but its actually going to be enforced now.

What about Oshkosh Controllers?

Did they announce what the percentages were as far as yes/no votes? Just curious.

The contract was ratified today.
I'll drink to that.

There is [still] FAA management that is grasping onto the bush implemented policies so much that they do their best to refuse ATSAP and push minor conduct infractions to the maximum extent possible resulting in veteran controllers being suspended at facilities where certifed controller numbers are near 50%.
Example: Forced to work over 2 hours at a scope because your relief as still got 15 mins working the scope next to you before getting a 20 min break before relieving you, and still... not being able to turn your head or it will cost you 30 days unpaid.

Still, this is the beginning of the end of this crap. Drink up.

According to the natca reps, and the controllers, we are allowed to wear shorts

So as a complete newbie... What did controllers win in the new contract? eg. what better things will come about because of this contract? I keep reading pay has increased. How much more than the current pay scale?

School a noob!

They're paying in cookies instead of peanuts now... :D

Old dresscode FTW as well!

From the FLM I have talked to they are trying to prevent that. Personally the dress code means nothing to me. I'm happy about seeing the pay go up. I would wear a suit as long as they paid me more.

Yeah. I was the guy that asked about closing the loophole that allowed the IWRs to happen. I thought I saw you, but wasn't sure. :insane:
Yeah.. Looking from the front to the back of the room, I was in the back left. Red polo and khakis. I remember seeing you now. Strange seeing semi-anonymous people from the forums in real life, isn't it?

Here is what article 69[Dress code] states:

Section 1. Members of the bargaining unit shall groom and attire themselves in a neat, clean manner which will not erode public confidence in the professionalism of the bargaining unit workforce.
Section 2. The display and wearing of Union insignias such as pins, pocket penholders or tie tacks, shall be permitted. Apparel shall not be considered inappropriate because it displays the Union logo or insignia.
Section 3. Denim trousers shall be permitted as long as their condition meets the standards of Section 1 of this Article. Neckties shall not be mandatory in any facility.

Nothing is stated that shorts are not allowed. It is the exact same language as the green book(the pre-IWR contract).

Here is what has been agreed on the local level at Indy Center:

- Do not arrive to work like you are going directly to the beach after.
- Do not arrive to work like you are going directly to the gym after.
- Do not wear clothing that over exposes.
- Do not wear shirts with crude or inappropriate sayings/photos

Specifically mentioned as being ok as long as it meets "neat, clean manner which will not erode public confidence in the professionalism of the bargaining unit workforce."

- jeans
- sneakers
- shorts
- t-shirts
- jerseys
- hats
- flip flops (not shower)

I don't know about anyone else, but I find that agreeable.

Yeah that sounds perfect. I hope ZNY is the exact same
