ASA flight to KTUS?

Bombardier has a heavy check facility in TUS. They do mx for MAG, SkyWest, and other CRJ operators. Mostly they do -700/-900 heavy mx. They are also one of the few mx facilites in the North America other than the Bombardier factory that can perform major structural repairs.

. . .used to be a Hughes facility!

Nope....PCL may have a company limitation, but that's it....nothing fleetwide for anyone else

Most companies followed suit with the FL370 limitation, though.

That accident wasn't just a maturity issue with the crew, it was indicitive of cultural issues not just at pinnacle, but at regionals around the country.

Those issues still haven't been corrected.

Jumpseated on an RJ the other day.... neither pilot looked at the checklist the entire flight, poor radio communcations... etc etc etc.

As much as people like to think this is limited to a regional issue, its not. I've seen scary crap onboard mainline and other airlines. I'd start a list but i don't want to be a source for a sensationalist article on the news.

If you really think things suddenly become rosy because its mainline, you need to set down the kool-aid

You know better than that, Joe.

The culture at the regionals is terrible...

I didn't say it wasn't.

But there are non standard idiots who have horrible discipline everywhere. You really need to drop the attitude of "every senior captain at a regional couldn't hack it with the pros". Not everyone had the luck and timing that you had.

I like you man, but don't forget where you came from.
