How much do we really like our jobs? Poll

I can't believe some people would seriously keep working for an AIRLINE if they won the lottery.

I'm going to go ahead and include ANY job if I won the lottery! If the money sum is large enough it would go in the bank and I'd live happily off of the interest money alone.

I'd do something for the health, dental, vision and travel benefits. Oh, and retirement.

I love these "if I won the lottery" questions, because if you really think about it, not much would change. You'd just have a lot of money. You need to be smart with it to truly see change...

I would quit in the blink of an eye. I'd get a plane that is actully fun to fly and do that on my own dime once or twice a month if I felt like it, but I'm not sure I'd even do that.

I'd stay on.... I'm flying the planes I've always wanted to fly, typically hold a decent schedule, and it should would be nice to not have it constantly in the back of my mind the viability of the airline's future.

i would buy a champ and teach poor kids how to fly...

...umm, i guess i'd need a VLJ for the back and fourths to my off shore account location...

and i'd buy a crop duster and spray my buddies houses with kool-aid and beer once a week (separately, of course)...

Depends on how big the lottery jackpot was. If you net $10 million after taxes, it would probably be smart to keep some sort of job just for the benefits and retirement, since $10 million won't last you for 50+ years. If you net $50 million after taxes, you would be completely set and never have to work another day in your life while still living a pretty extravagant lifestyle. Assuming, of course, that you don't blow all of it on a Gulfstream IV.

Yeah...while having a plane like that would be absolutely incredible. It also sounds like a great way to lose your entire fortune. For this reason I have decided that when I win the lotto a VLJ will be the most expensive thing I'd get...but would probably still stick to a turboprop or light twin. If I'm flying far enough that I need a gulfstream, I want someone else to be doing the flying for me so I can sleep.

If I won at least ten million dollars, I would quit my job in a heartbeat and go by a Cirrus SR-22. That airplane is awesome! I would only fly it on good weather days, and give kids who an interest in aviation rides in it. It would be perfect for doing short flights around the southeast. If I had to travel someplace far, I would just buy a first class airline ticket.

I'd quit. I'd buy and run my own winery, buy a Cessna 140, add a private airstrip on the land, and live and work at home for the rest of my life... and fly whenever I want in my own airplane.

I can't believe the MAJORITY wouldnt quit their flying job if they had NO money worries. Pay will never increase. :laff:

If I was set for life, I would be off in a heartbeat. Buy a nice house in my home country, buy a nice glider, and aerobatics aircraft, sea-plane, and some sort of STOL, and have a blast with that. I would invest my money, and spend my free time turning it into more money.

Rather then continue to get bent over and pimped out/pushed around by the airlines and management here in the U.S.

I'd be out in a heartbeat.....if not sooner. I enjoy the job; but it's just that, a JOB. If I didn't need an income, I certainly wouldn't be putting up w/ the crap that comes w/ the territory.

so the question becomes....why not reduce one's expenses to the point where they could afford a job they would love to work at? :sarcasm:

Which was exactly what I was trying to say.
