Commercial AMEL-IR BFR?

Since I have already passed the 24 month mark for my BFR, I have a few questions: (I should probably know this but I've been out of aviation for so long) 1. will I need to re-take another checkride or will a successful BFR suffice? 2. Do I need to conduct the BFR in both a single and multi? 3.And what would you folks recommend for a good study guide?- Thanks

You will just need to do a flight review in either a multi or single. No checkride is needed. In the beginning of the FAR/AIM, there is a suggested study guide for Commercial pilots. Start there, and also review chart symbols, airspace, etc...

that depends on who published it. Neither the official FAR nor the official AIM contain a "study guide." Jepp or AIM or Gleim or whoever does the study guide.

Look at 61.56(c). The FR is to be accomplished "in an aircraft for which that pilot is rated." Rated in singles, multis, gligers, helis, and baloons? You can do it in the balloon.

There are a number of study guides out there but if you are flying regularly, you probably won't need one. If you feel the need to treat it as a checkride, ASA has a booklet on the FR that's in the same series and format as its practical test guides. Weak on Part 91? You might find it enough to hit one of the free knowledge test sites and do a session or so on that Part.

True, I was referring to the ASA one.
