Why I like Fed Ex

i ordered something being shipped fedex from ohio, it shipped this morning and should be here in chicago the 2nd

Fedex won't be making any progress with that package Saturday,Sunday, and Monday, so yeah, seeing how it got shipped before a weekend and during a holiday, it'll take a little extra time.

Was it shipped FedEx ground? That's what it sounds like. The product you choose has a big impact on when you get it.

Do they really run tests on delivery services? Where exactly do they keep those records and results?

FedEx Ranks Number One in Customer Satisfaction Among Express Delivery Companies For 12th Consecutive Year

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 08, 2009—FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) today ranked number one in customer satisfaction in Express Delivery industry and also first among 81 companies whose customers are surveyed in the first quarter by the University of Michigan's American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI).

“At FedEx, we believe there is a crucial link between team members’ satisfaction and customer satisfaction and loyalty,” said Cary Pappas, president of FedEx Customer Information Services. “The high ranking in the ACSI is a testament to all the outstanding FedEx team members who are committed to making every FedEx experience outstanding.”

FedEx has ranked number one in the Express Delivery industry for 12 consecutive years.

In the first quarter of the year, ACSI measures customer satisfaction with the quality of products and services in utilities, transportation and warehousing, information, health care and social assistance, and accommodation and food services.

The ACSI is the only national, cross-industry measure of the quality of U.S. economic output and scores companies based on customer expectations, quality, value and intention to re-purchase.

About the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI)
The American Customer Satisfaction Index is a national economic indicator of customer evaluations of the quality of products and services available to household consumers in the United States. It is updated each quarter with new measures for different sectors of the economy replacing data from the prior year. The overall ACSI score for a given quarter factors in scores from about 200 companies in 44 industries and from government agencies over the previous four quarters. The Index is produced by the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business in partnership with the American Society for Quality and CFI Group, and is supported in part by ForeSee Results. ACSI can be found on the web at http://www.theacsi.org.

Not to mention that FedEx has better ads: brownbailout

I do have to admit that I was tickled pink when we got our FedEx discount back. That DHL deal was a killer. But they did ship a boatload of boxes to Iraq for us for el cheapo.

I hate fedex. Can you put in my resume there?

I hate UPS. Can you put in my resume there?

You people crack me up.

I've never had a problem with either company. As far as sending stuff international, Customs (or the countries equivalent) can hold stuff as long as they want. My brother works for a wine importer, and they bring stuff in by the ship-container load.

He has told me its not uncommon for a shipment to get held by Customs for a month or more. Eventually they may open it up, look in the first couple of boxes to ensure its really wine (as declared), and then finally release it.

They let me ride and give me a meal.

that's all I need to like someone.

Oh, the $5.00 or so FedEx letter is a good one too

That and the fact that you can reserve your jumpseat and even a FedEx pilot can't bump you, unless it's a check airman that is required, of course. Fortunately, they normally put the check airman on well in advance, so that's not a factor.

Yep , fedex deserves credit for what they do
i especially like them because some of their senior pilots make up to 300K a year

"Polar742, you are confirmed"

That's almost as good as seeing my wife and kids picking me up at the end of the trip!!!

I did get to sleep in the coffin last time. pretty comfortable.

Well, these days the hours are a bit cut due to the economy. Shared pain rather than put anyone on the street is the FedEx way, although some of the senior pilots a whining about it. Incidentally, your number is a little low.

Yes, I'm glad that is the way it is. FedEx guys can reserve it sooner, so if they wait then it's fair game.

Of course, you're not home until you get close enough that you would divert to the destination. I always looked at it as 80% there after the aircraft is configured and no problems, and 98% there after you've cleaned up after takeoff. After that, there are very few things that could happen that would prevent you reaching the destination.

Well, FedEx just delivered a letter to me from a certain JCer in AZ a day early today (thanks MikeD!) :) Estimated delivery was tomorrow, but a knock on the door and a whoosh of a white van this afternoon delivered the letter a day early!

So, yay FedEx IND! :D

(Now if we could just get the FedEx drivers in MSN to find the farm, we'd be stylin'!)

Now I hope those weren't incriminating photos from when we were roommates...
