Colgan hearings are complete and utter <..>

My blood is boiling at 7am. I love how everyone except the pilots are giving testimony at this hearing. Yes it may have been the pilots fault. But they're purposely avoiding the whole issue, of underpaid, and overworked. This will happen again because Colgan, and these so called experts in the field are blaming just the pilots. Lets talk about why both of those pilots had to commute to work? Why the FO had to sleep on a couch instead of get a hotel for the night. Not a word about why. Only that they did it and it may have caused them to crash. One of us needs to be interviewed.

What would you like for the Feds to outlaw commuting? You mentioned about affordability of a hotel, well, it was the pilot's(s) choice to reside out of town.

As for pilots, I have known pilots making $200k a year that would not spring for a hotel room;)

Sarcasm. Why would I expect anything from you?
I think you'd be hard pressed to find any of my posts in which I've told people they must do something in some certain order or that if they wanted to be men they should fly freight. Just because Ppragman and I have made better decisions than you when it comes to flying don't hate, man. Its very unbecoming.

Sarcasm from me? The kettle calling the pot black. :laff:

"Better" decision than me?

See. . .

But lemme ask you this Mr. Perfect, how did you two studs of aviation do things better than "me?" If you're going to make such a ridiculous statement, at least back it up with something tangible that is directly related to the individual you are challenging. Good luck, I'll be waiting.

Further, are you now the final judge of how to do things "better" in aviation? I'll be sure to send all newbies your direction so you can point them in the "better" direction, whatever the hell that is.

So you're going to get on your high horse about duty issues and say you didn't or wouldn't fly, but then brag about getting it done when you prob. shouldn't have gone?

Right.

When was the last time you had 2 weeks of mail, pax, and food... but made the safe call not to go because you were tired? You like to flip flop a lot on issues. Call people out, but then tell tales of doing nearly the same stupid thing. I'm sure you would be pissed if I made a blanket statement, and said the reason that so many pilots die in Alaska is because they forsake safety, and go when the really know they shouldn't.

So which is it? Are you the hoss that gets it done, or the safety minded pilot that cancels flights, steps up to management and lays the career on the line?

In the end i wasn't trying to lecture you, but not coming from a 121 gig, you wont have faced the same challenges as a 121 pilot, so it's easy to armchair QB it. This gets the 121 guys pissed so they rip on the non 121 pilots. If your going to call out the actions of a crew, you had better have been there once.

You see, this is not the first time ppragman has had one of these incidents. Says how bad something is, then says he has had to do it before, but that it was okay because he did it. I'm also fairly confident it won't be the last.

What a crook.

You and ppragman should get hitched, telling how all of us should have done it your way on a constant basis sure contributes to quality discussion.
I'd still like to know when in the past I've preached at how others should do things my way. When have I told people to fly freight to be men?
When?

I'm not really challenging you. I'm responding to your ridiculous posts from before. I'm enjoying a nice, cool Sunday afternoon-you're the one with her panties all in a wad. But if you must have an answer:Lets see, we have jobs? We have marketable skills? We're hireable-even in a down economy?

Further, are you now the final judge of how to do things "better" in aviation? I'll be sure to send all newbies your direction so you can point them in the "better" direction, whatever the hell that is.

What can you provide a newbie? I know where and what I've done. I'm very happy with my experiences. It's allowed me to work in other countries and to me a lot of people. One thing I'm not is bitter, vindictive or overly petty. Grow up.

:yup: That's pretty funny.

In reference to fatigue, I'm saying how lack of rest degrades your ability to function when you are flying in difficult conditions. And that I have had to make difficult decisions so don't tell me that I don't. However, I don't bust regs, don't fly past the point of no-return, nor do I hold anyone else but myself accountable if I take a calculated risk (e.g. taking off when the wx is right at mins) if something goes wrong and I pile in. Neither should we hold anyone but the crew accountable when they made the choice not to disqualify themselves for flying.

It is not black and white like you think it is dude.

Ahh, no they won't.

Pilot error will almost certainly be the synopsis in a nut shell. They'll get pissed at colgan for not training them enough, and for giving them crappy duty schedules with the commute. But the fact of the matter remains, a stall was encountered and the crew used improper stall recovery technique.

It's nice watching people self-destruct.

Thanks for not answering my questions. At least you're not backing away from the obvious fact that your "better" statement was founded with no basis in reality.

Her panties? Give me a break. I'm enjoying a wonderful Sunday with my family. Which is better? You tell me, since you're quite the prognosticator of better-ness.

Get over yourself.

So, I don't have a job? I don't have marketable skills?

You're assumptions are even more comical now. Keep it up, I'm enjoying this.

[modhat]This is getting ridiculous. Keep the personal crap out of the thread. Temporary time out until tempers cool, and hopefully we can get back on topic.[/modhat]
