Interesting. So much for the "They're gonna downsize mainline stuff to feeders" argument...sorry to hear it.
oh.
Dooooooommmmmmmmm!
Is it true? I heard 12 AMF runs were cx last week
Well Im flying a route that was with a DHL DC-9 in a 1900
Well, that's good at least. No wait, that's bad. Christ, I'm so confused.

So I am guessing that is why Air Cargo Carriers furloughed....I am optimistic at the same time. The market seems to have found a solid bottom and companies like Apple and Ebay have beaten market expectations with earnings.
Do the UPS cuts have anything to do with their deal with DHL?
Martinaire underbid AirNow on 8 UPS contracts. Airnow lost 8 of their 15 runs, or so. Ouch.
Martinaire pilots make... $24,000/year with no per diem.
AirNow pilots make... $27,000/year with $4,500 per diem.
Well thats part true. It its possible to get up to $50 a day per diem here at martinaire, IF you're a standby pilot. If you're holding a line tho, no perdiem. As far as i knew we only picked up 6 routes. 4 in carolina, and 2 in pennsylvania.
Are they still doing a per diem in leu of a hotel at Martinaire?
yeah, it actually works out pretty well sometimes. Even as a line pilot i can pick that up if i have to divert. My normal alternate is only a 30 minute drive to my base, so naturally i turn down the hotel and pocket the cash.
I used to do that on my normal overnight.
I took advantage of all the "extra money" opportunities when I was there, and made a decent living considering I had one of the easiest routes.
well they did away with the over-night thing, but theres still some decent money making opprotunities. what route did you have?
