CFI Jobs MMU

Ive seen ads for their school on climbto350 about a year ago all over the place. At least it was a place in Morristown, but the name sounds familiar.

And dannng, some of those planes are expensive! The Instructor rates are pricey too.

the area where this airport is is veryyyy nice .. I'm pretty sure that who ever is going to this airport has the means to continue on at the prices put forth

FWIW... a lot of the students from this flight school take there checkrides at the airport I teach at so I've meant some of the instructors and they all seem to be happy. I can tell you one thing.... the flight school has VERY nice planes... all cirrus and 172s with garmin 1000s I believe. On the down side its a real expensive area to live in.

This would be excellent. Would allow me to get to live back up in NJ. Yes, I actually like NJ better than florida :panic:

That's funny I lived right down the road in Madison, NJ and worked at Teterboro. I did visit MMU, rented a twin out of there with some buddies. But I moved to FL and never looked back :D.

Cost of living would be obscene, I had a 1 bed / 1 bath apartment in Madison for $1,100/month and that was in 2003. Probably more like $1,500 now.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy being down here now but I just miss everything I have back home. ie. family and friends. And I just like the lifestyle up there. I thought they were crazy drivers up there but floridians are awful :panic:

My wife and I have lived in Morristown for almost 5 years now and really enjoy it. You are correct that it is expensive however there are less expensive areas that are still close and less expensive. We live in the center of town and pay $1350/month for a 2 bedroom which includes utilities. Truthfully that's probably on the low end although cheaper places do exist especially if you are will to live with roommates. I have another pilot friend who has 2 roommates and pays $700 for a room in a nice house in town.

If anyone needs any help with the area let me know.

Yeah I agree the drivers up there are pretty good who else can be going 75 and fit their car into a 20 ft. opening? Instead of getting pissed getting cut off I had to adjust my attitude and just think "damn that was a good move!". :D

I applied on the climbto350 link several days ago, have yet to hear anything though. Maybe they have a ton of applications to get through, or maybe they just don't like what they see in me :p

Maybe a little of both :p

Im sure they have had a ton of people send in resumes that they need to weed through.

Ahh Rt. 17. I lived just off it in Carlstadt when working out of TEB. Jersey drivers are either really bad, really good, or too damned ignorant to care. :buck:

If you guys are looking for work in Northern NJ, check out Lincoln Park Airport (N07). Great place, flexible hours and good pay. The owner's name is Linda. I lived in downtown Morristown for a year, which is an awesome town, and it was just a 25 minute drive up the highway to the airport. I paid $1500 for a 2BR 1BA about 1/4mi off the green. I could put you in touch with the landlord if you need a place, really nice guy.

Not that beggars can be choosers, but does Lincoln Park have any multi-engine planes? How's the pay?

By the way, Morristown is an awesome town! It's very expensive, but a "happening" little place.

No multis, just 4 C172SP's, 2 of which are G1000, and a 172RG. Mostly Hudson River tours and intro flights. Pay is $30/hr, I billed between 80-100/month. Morristown is a blast, its worth the extra money to find a place downtown.
