9L Closing IAH

You know... its a slippery slope.

They could get rid of the SAAB flying, transfer all the SAAB crews to the Q and not have to increase labor costs.

And Phil's already let slide in an article that he wants Colgan as an all Q400 fleet. That's why I'm thinking the way I am. Although, they'd need to re-negotiate the agreements with the Saabs to make the Q400s profitable. I doubt we'd make money flying a Q400 from ABI-IAH. Then again, I could be wrong since I haven't done any market research.

When is CHQ's CAL flying contract expiring? I could potentially see CAL going with Colgan Q400s over RAH's 50 seaters.

This was the initially intended market, speaking in terms of performance at higher DA fields, like DEN.

Everything I have heard so far, the Q was a goldmine, and kept everything else going this past summer.

Could always scoop up some DHC-100/200s on the cheap and still be an all Dash fleet (one type rating, very high parts commonality, etc.)

we do that and i know there will be some piedmont guys that are going to be very unhappy. we start flying dhc4 for usair and there will be a strike at piedmont mark my words.

rob as much as i agree. if we have 15 dh4's sitting idle we are going to offer them at one hell of a price in order to get them in the air. we will go knock on airways door if it comes down to it.

Airways won't offer us a CPA, we would not fly the Q4 for them. simply too much of a risk.

I would expect UAL, and CAL to be the shopping partners

we will do anything if no one else is going to use them. im not saying it is a first choice its just a matter of red or black.

There is a lot more red assosiated with Paying the note on an airplane, plus flying it at 15% capasity on your own dime.

I would expect to see it in the CAL system, cycling through keeping total airframe cycles down untill the went somewhere.

I would almost bet my job that you won't see them in airways colors.

Maybe not a strike, but you'll get some dirty looks and some slashed tires in the parking lot.

This is why if I were based in ATL on the -900, I'd be avoiding CVG like the plague. I don't think I could look a Comair guy in the eye.

i hope you are right. now do you think we will see a q in captain america colors?
