I just got this one. It is a custom modified Seiko SKX007 automatic. New "Sinn/Bell&Ross" dial and hands, aluminum chapter ring and a "Navigator" bezel insert. It is basically a poor man's GMT. Just rotate the bezel for different time zones. I have it on a better strap than the pictured. Also, did I mention that I am a watch nerd?

No one has mentioned Breitling ....the ULTIMATE aviator watch

Among the pilots I fly with, most wear some variation of a cheap and durable digital watch. A Casio G-Shock or the like.

99% of military fighter pilots I know who wear a Breitling ONLY wear one because they purchased a custom version with their aircraft on it:

The fact of the matter is, unlike 60 years ago most of us don't have to use our watch in order to execute our navigation in the aircraft. Guys aren't using their wristwatch to time the non-DME approaches -- most people use some $2.00 digital egg timer with gigantic digits. The actual value of an "aviator watch" is as a status symbol rather than anything with any real utility.

:yeahthat: It is really just "man jewelry" anyway but still, I'm a watch nerd. I just don't have the money to buy anything super-nice. I just wear a Casio G-Shock when I am flying. Partly because when I am in some questionable places it does not scream, "STEAL ME!"

Point well taken, but even in this economy, I can truly appreciate a beautifully made watch with amazing precision and movement...that's just me. I would feel awful wearing a knockoff or something cheap...

My current "daily drivers":

This Seiko is fantastic, best watch I've ever owned.

Also have this Casio, one with a black face, one with a gold face.
