Among the pilots I fly with, most wear some variation of a cheap and durable digital watch. A Casio G-Shock or the like.
99% of military fighter pilots I know who wear a Breitling ONLY wear one because they purchased a custom version with their aircraft on it:
The fact of the matter is, unlike 60 years ago most of us don't have to use our watch in order to execute our navigation in the aircraft. Guys aren't using their wristwatch to time the non-DME approaches -- most people use some $2.00 digital egg timer with gigantic digits. The actual value of an "aviator watch" is as a status symbol rather than anything with any real utility.
