Any Opportunity for a Civilian?

I'm a civilian, prior military, 36 yrs. old, FAA Certified Flight Instructor, single and multi-engine rated in fixed wing piston.... Any chance with the military? Army said I'd have to get a waiver due to my age. They're going to call MEPS and get back to me...

All thoughts are welcome
 
I don't know what their requirements are for flight school, but I do know the Army Reserve was accepting people up to age 40 with no prior military experience. That would allow 20 years of service before reaching age 60 and retirement.

Good luck. My "opinion" (which carries zero weight) is that you would be a good catch for the Army's aviation program.

Yeah, the waivers go with the flow of the economy. So...since the economy sucks ass...lots of people ready to sign on the line & no waivers are being considered. Of course, there ARE exceptions, but these usually go CURRENT members of the guard and reserve. Can't hurt to try though!
